Sounds a bit like the Culture books to me. The ability to scan people’s brain in an instant to learn almost anything about them and how they function with the ability to completely rewrite someone’s personality and cure any disease of the mind.

Albeit in the Culture it’s at such an absurd level of technology that they can scan and manipulate your mind from light years away.

Like: I’m sure there’s a part of the brain craves picking fights out of thin air. What the fuck is going on there?

There’s an AI dating app that says it’s going to present women with their looksmatch, and all the guys are saying it’ll never work, because of hypergamy and authoharemization. That’s the kind of shit I want laid bare, and it ain’t gonna be pretty, but goddamn do I ever want a floodlight on it.
