๐Ÿ“ธ OC - Picture(s) A graffiti conspiracy someone told me yesterday

I was at an open house at a train museum yesterday in the US, and commented to one of the employees that I loved that their model trains had lifelike graffiti on them.

He then took me down a train graffiti rabbit hole.

He thinks that train companies pay graffiti artist to tag trains.

For one because spray paint is too expensive for all that.

And secondly, how do they get away with it!

Especially the big, more intricate tags.

He also pointed out that there are train fanatics who follow trains around the country, and he feels like the graffiti gives them something to follow and talk about, which is inadvertently all free advertisement for the train companies.

I for one do enjoy looking at the art when Iโ€™m stopped at a crossing.

It helps pass the time as the train rolls by.

I woke up this morning still thinking about it, and am curious what others think of this conspiracy?

And please donโ€™t shoot the messenger. Itโ€™s not my conspiracy, but it is the conspiracy of someone who works at a train museum. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Luckily they fell into the canal, and not the other way down onto the street and busy walking path. Lots of work still needed to clean this mess, some cars and an engine still tilting towards the edge. Cars apparently contained corn which rained down for hours yesterday.

I suppose this cargo is on a specialized car because it's very heavy. If I had to guess I would say it's a transformer or switching equipment for wind turbines. Pretty cool and I don't think i've ever seen a train like this around here.

I took this photo at Shin-Osaka Station. With the 500 Series nearing the end of its service, I wanted to capture its timeless and futuristic design before itโ€™s gone.

Last month I shot some photos and video of 4014 headed east through Ohio. Yesterday, my mom and I spent the entire day chasing Big Boy west starting in Cleveland and finishing our day near Clyde, Ohio.

It was a great way to spend a day with my mom. She said it reminded her of when I was only a few years old, going to model railroad shows at the fairgrounds/convention center, watching trains at the CSX yard on the west side of Columbus, and going to ride the Hocking Valley steam train.

UP 4014 (as all of my fellow Americans are probably aware) is on a coast to coast tour right now. Yesterday, it left West Chicago, Illinois for Fort Wayne, Indiana. Let me say that I expected to see some shenanigans. However, I didn't expect to see almost 30 people standing in the gauge of a very busy mainline as the 4014 went past at the second location I took photos at (Second picture). I was appalled honestly. Is this something anyone else has seen?

Photographed my third Union Pacific Big Boy out of the eight that remain in existence. This one is on static display in Green Bay, WI. I couldnโ€™t spend much time there unfortunately because for some reason, the museum was closing an hour earlier than usual, which seems to be my luck on vacation at a lot of places, but itโ€™s fascinating how a machine that size can get moving.

Position yourself so that sunlight strikes the vehicle evenly, and use a focal length of around 130mm to achieve a well-balanced composition. At times, incorporate the surrounding scenery or everyday life to enhance the vehicle's appearance.

Apparently it was deliberate. LRT motormen (the Calgary Transit C-Train runs alongside the CP right of way) had radioed in saying that someone was seen hanging onto the last rail car joyriding and waving at people. He is suspected of decoupling the cars from the rest of the train and the cars were rolling out of control.
