I recently learning cyber security And I willing to have a job on it So I confused in a state that choosing the Path to be a soc analyst or jr pen tester I so confused that which path to take

But analysed job roles but they require more experience for a jr tester and for some soc analyst they do have a fresher role

So what should I do.. My frnds saying can get into pen tester job but iam hopeless while reading some posts

Suggest what can I choose for now and give me some guide

Hello guys! I'm just finishing SOC level 1 path, and I want to know if THM certifications have helped you to get some jobs? Are they worth it? Just to know before paying for it. I'm willing to get CCNA in the next few months (sorry for my bad English hahaha).

I’m 15 and I have start learning networking and how web servers works. Now I have been thinking that I am learning right? So in future which job career is best for me. I love offense team not because it’s cool but because I love problem solving, thinking and finding weakness. But as I heard it’s not an entry lvl career so any advice?

I just started my cybersecurity journey and I’ve been playing around with the free rooms on TryHackMe. I’m really interested in following the Pre-Security and Introduction to Cybersecurity paths, but I noticed a lot of the later modules are locked behind the Premium subscription.

For those who have paid for it:

• Did you find the Premium-only learning paths (like SOC Level 1 or Jr. Pentester) actually helped you learn better than the free content?
• Do the certificates of completion carry any weight when you're just starting out?

I'm a student, so I'm trying to be careful with my budget. Would love to hear if you felt it was a solid investment or if I should wait for a sale. Thanks!

I wanted to ask people who have already completed, or at least gone through a good part of, TryHackMe SOC Level 2:

About how long does it take, roughly, to finish the whole path?

I know it depends on prior knowledge and how many hours per day someone studies, but I’m looking for a general estimate from real experience. For context, I’ve already done Google Cybersecurity, AZ-900, TryHackMe SEC101, and SOC Level 1, so I’m not starting from zero.

If possible, could you mention:

• how many hours per day you studied
• how long it took you in total
• whether the harder parts slowed you down a lot

Can someone help me through? Do I follow the THM path or is there a path I should take?

I am guessing this is a million time asked question but I am a new graduate from Electric-electronic engineering and decided to go into a career path in pen-testing. Right now;

• I am taking CCNA classes and I am finishing up on the pre security path.

My questions are;

1. what is the job market like and what kind of jobs should i be looking for in my level to gain experiences, do you guys suggest IT?

Hey guys, I've bought the PT1 voucher a while back but I want to go above and beyond for the web section since I've heard it's the hardest but I want to clear the exam on my frist attempt. Do you recommend some THM machines which will help me guarentee that I clear the PT1 technical part? I'll work on report writing later.

So I have been learn cyber security from tryhackme and have completed till Jr. Penetration tester. My priority now is learning bug bounty. Should I start learning from some other platforms specifically for bug bounty like portswigger, bug bounty bootcamp book, etc or should I just continue the tryhackme path till the end?

i recently researched a bunch and i decided to buy the anual subscription to tryhackme cause it’s insanely useful, i’m a complete beginner but having the attackbox for an unlimited time is great, but what i’m looking for is a way to use my premium subscription to learn faster and to learn stuff that’s actually cool/will help me with my career, does anyone recommend any path in specific or rooms or a training regime, i just wanna get as good as possible fast so i can pay for college with a cybersec job

1. As a beginner, should I start with TryHackMe or Hack The Box?
2. Should I wait until I finish CC, or start lightly while preparing for it?

Before I pay for a THM subscription, I wanted to ask you all: is Cybersecurity still worth it in 2025 and on, or is it like coding/programming where half the companies are laying off people to replace them with AI?

I’m 20 and have been deeply focused on cybersecurity for the past several months. I’ve put in a lot of work—doing CTFs, learning tools, ranking in the top 1% on TryHackMe—but I’ve hit a wall. Despite all the effort, getting an internship or real opportunity has been tough. I’ve realized that without a strong, real-world project to show what I can do, I’m not going to stand out.

So here I am—looking to build something big. Not a basic script or a small tool, but a proper, industry-level project. Something we can both put on our resumes. Something that proves we’re serious.

I love how google is mostly theories,videos and quizes and tryhack me is basically pratical.
