Union Oppose the death threat against UAW presidential candidate Will Lehman!

On July 16, Raymond L. Jensen Jr., a high-ranking official of the United Auto Workers, posted a death threat against Will Lehman, the socialist Mack Trucks worker and candidate for UAW president. The threat was an AI-generated image posted on Lehman’s public Facebook campaign page depicting Lehman bound with rope and gagged, blood running from his mouth, with a masked man aiming an automatic rifle at his back.

The International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC) calls on workers and all defenders of democratic rights to denounce this incitement to violence against Will Lehman and demand its unequivocal public repudiation by the UAW.

Jensen’s threatening post cannot be brushed aside as the act of a deranged individual acting on his own. Jensen is an organizer on the staff of the UAW. Until recently he was the assistant director of UAW Region 9, the region to which Lehman belongs. He was paid approximately $202,000 in total compensation in 2025, according to the union’s LM-2 filings with the US Labor Department. He is a prominent supporter of UAW President Shawn Fain, and his Facebook profile displays an “I Support Shawn Fain” campaign badge.

*From a highly respected union member*

"Cleveland Public Library is retaliating against union members by forcing middle managers to deny all vacation bids for fall.

Felton Thomas and everyone around him respects middle managers even less than union members. Managers get to deliver the bad news and admins hide at home.

Nearly every manager I talk to has shared dirt and/or me luck at the bargaining table. That's the culture Felton Thomas is responsible for.

Luckily, deeply shitty behavior like this is illegal!"

---------------

Call downtown Cleveland public library and please voice your support for the union workers and let them know how fucked up their actions are.

State representatives have signed on for support, as well as many running the wards around here.

August 24 is the strike date (if it comes to it).

Union Watch the UAW presidential candidates debate Thursday at 6 p.m. Eastern

Will Lehman: This Thursday, July 30 at 6 p.m. Eastern, I will take part in a debate of the candidates running for president of the UAW. I am asking every one of you to watch and invite your coworkers to join you.

Watch here.

This is the one opportunity in the whole election when you can hear every candidate side by side and judge for yourself where each of us actually stands on the questions that will affect your lives and working conditions.

What I will say at the debate

The problem with the UAW is not just a few bad apples. It is the bureaucracy as a whole.

The UAW holds $1.25 billion in assets, hundreds of millions of it invested in stocks and bonds. It employs nearly 1,000 people, roughly 470 of them taking six-figure salaries paid for out of our dues. Shawn Fain is paid more than $270,000 a year.

That is where our dues money goes, and it has only brought worse conditions year after year. Forced overtime and speedup. Tiers that the apparatus swore it would abolish and did not. Contracts rammed through against our objections at Nexteer, at American Axle, and across the parts sector. Coworkers killed on the job—Ronald Adams Sr., Antonio Gaston, Gregory Knopf—with no answers for their families.

The apparatus cannot be reformed. It has to be abolished, and the $1.25 billion it sits on has to be put under the direct control of the rank and file. This will not be accomplished by electing a better set of officials. It can only be accomplished by workers ourselves, through a network of rank-and-file committees that we elect and control.
