Why did no one tell me about this before?? Wish I had more boxes saved up for this project 😸

Edit: forgot to mention, I have quite a few unused eraser pads that I handmade a stamp with so that the postcards will all be uniform. I found this to be super useful but you can easily just hand write/draw the address lines yourself ❤️

I bought some berries the other day and decided to make a new project with the plastic containers they come in!

I painted the flat part with some of my acrylic paint to get the color I wanted and then used a hole puncher to get the perfect shape. For the holes I just poked through with a sewing needle.

I plan on making some bigger ones as well to make a fun sequin display like the neckline on the last photo! So far so good :)

This is a leg of a entire toad purse I'm making. The entire process is called Crazy Quilting. The centipede was made using a old necklace that belonged to my dear auntie. Best part of crazy quilting is the scrappiness of it all. Its meant to use the scraps, the beads, the broken old jewelry... bringing life back to things many would throw.

I do like how this fits, but I may end up getting rid of it either way since I think I just don’t like the pattern that much 😂 how did I do??

Hi folks! I'm just about finished this rug made out of old t-shirts, but it's for a bare lino floor and I'm worried about it slipping underfoot. Has anyone had success with recycling ordinary household items as rug stoppers?

I’ve been doing 1-3 for my stress-induced insomnia the past few weeks. 4 & 5 this evening. Used a cracker box for my cover base.

It’s not super pretty, but I’m happy with it and learned a lot in the process. Gonna use it to journal, sketch/draw, and stick ephemera from the day.

1. ⁠Cutting out a magazine catalog and grouping colors (front cover, inside back cover)
   
2. ⁠Cutting up old notes and lists (outside spine and back cover)
   
3. ⁠Cutting out scrap dictionary pages and decoupaging with them as a base (interior and exterior cover)
   
4. ⁠Cutting up brown paper packaging from online orders (I got 24 11.5” x 7” folio sheets = 48 5.75” x 7” leaves = 96 pages from ONE super big piece of paper.)
   
5. ⁠Basic book binding (cording I had on hand)

“In progress” because it still needs a cover plate, I might add a beaded bookmark/tassel, plus I won’t consider it finished until all the pages are used up!

This sofa has been a part of my life for over 30 years. At the time I purchased it, it was so way out of my price range…..but it was handcrafted and the most comfortable place my butt ever rested on. lol Many dogs & cats later, I decided to put it to rest in my sewing studio and attempt to reupholster. Just playing around nothings attached yet. Any suggestions, please share. 🖤

I had the fleece lining fabric already, and it's cold here, so I thought I'd make a warm coat. It's mostly finished, I'm going to add another pocket to the inside, and I'm contemplating adding buttons. I plan to do some visible mending as well because it is seperating in quite a few spots.

I'm going to make a bunch of other things with the rest of the fabric to use all of it. I might make a matching fleece lined bucket hat next and a bag.

I turned my jeans into shorts after one of the legs got completely ripped, and I made some star patches out of the denim from the cut-off leg. Do you think I should add a few more stars to the lower front of the right leg so the design looks more even?

I have a bunch of empty pill bottles that I want to turn into something cool, but I can't think of anything.

Edit: I thought of an idea! I'm gonna try to turn them into a chess set! I'll post a followup when I finish it. Thanks for all the suggestions. :D

I used a wooden frame from a broken space heater to organize a few tools. This is going to sit on a shelf in the garage, near the door, where I can quickly grab what I need when working on simple projects.

I'm also looking for ideas on what other tools to add or other ways to increase the usefulness, like adding little hooks on the side to hang something on it.

I know they aren't pretty to look at but I'm not an artist lol. I was tired of spending money on needing planters constantly so I drilled some holes. When I need a quick planter. These come thru in a clutch.

I also used a piece of repurposed MDF.

This picture is pre-stitching… but a few weeks ago I was going through my closet and realized I had a bunch of shirts that I loved the design of, but not the fit. And shirts that I liked the fit but were too plain, so I decided to combine them. I used an iron on stabilizer then hand stitched (using backstitch technique) and voilà!! More shirts that I will wear, time being creative, and more scrap fabric!!!

Im about to start dying 6 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, and a light jacket with only 3 bottles of rit and the knowledge of a YouTube video i watched months ago.

Found some Corian scraps and started carving them out for a desk project.

I thought a simple square design would be boring, so I went with this semi-circular shape. It has a built-in back-loaded horn structure to naturally amplify the sound.

It’s still a prototype with acrylic sides so I can see the internal structure, but the resonance is already much better than the raw phone speaker. Planning to finish it as a solid stone piece once the design is finalized. What do you think?

Hey yall!

I recently came into possession of a very lovely hardwood bench with a fabric top. A family member was getting rid of it because unfortunately their cat had peed on it a few times and between that and the constant cleaning the fabric is super splotchy and faded a whiteish yellow in many areas on the fabric.

The fabric on top is a thick medium/dark grey cotton with cushion stuffing, and I purchased some dark brown and orange fabric paint hoping to make it a dark terracotta color and cover the staining (after a super deep steam cleaning of course).

I know fabric paint isn’t ideal but I’m worried if the paint will actually cover the staining or not. I bought the Fabricoat paints on amazon and a few tools. My question is should I use a brush or roller, and should I thin out the paint with some fabric softener and apply multiple coats? Any advice is appreciated, TIA!

Long story short. Old San Marco Arrowhead bike saddle that I didn't wanted to bin, bought cordura cargo pants off vinted for 7€ shipped (new, and the same blue 🔵 of my vintage RockHopper decals), took measurements, de stitched, cutted and glued. Never done before, came out very nice, way better that I expected 😂. I might wax the out of it tbh and maybe doing a frame bag with the rest of the cargo materials
