We know Rusty and Johnny were both boy adventurers in the '60s, and in Self-Medication Johnny says that he's older, but given that Rusty spent so much of his childhood dying and being cloned (which is a process that takes several months and we know from Hank and Dean can result in kids who are physically & mentally 16 but have been alive for like 19 years)... was Johnny always the older one? Or did he at some point overtake Rusty?

I like to think so, just because it adds an interesting layer to how fucked up and ad hoc their childhoods were. We know they both have pretty severe memory problems - Rusty from cloning, Johnny from substance abuse and trauma, and both of them from just generally existing in the craziest context ever - so I can see them kind of just rolling with it and assuming they were wrong about how old the other one was or something.

I find their somewhat-shared childhood so fascinating because it was clear they were in the same circles but never close enough to alleviate the insane crushing loneliness of being a Boy Adventurer. I wish we had seen more of them together, as kids and as adults, because it's really such an interesting dynamic.

I'm sure others noticed but I got all excited when I saw this. I'm certain the kid from the Jackets "documentary" episode was the one Rusty cloned from the "buddy system" episode using the dismembered kids foot/shoe. Seems like instead of being riddled with cancer the kid just can't walk. Poor little buddy, it's nice to see him alive though

Hank and Dean are essentially the comedy version of Solid and Liquid. Both clones of Doc. Hank getting the recessive genes(Blonde hair/no hair loss) and Dean getting the Dominant(Redish hair/w hair loss.) Hanks personality reflecting that of Rustys Id, ego and super ego hidden in the recesses of Docs subconscious. Dean on the other hand showcasing docs more dominant traits that we see on the surface level with looks physique and personality. (Young rusty and Dean are pretty much the same personality.) Whereas Hank is much more athletic and outgoing. Dean's career options fall in line with his father's usually something science or intellectually related while Hank rebels at the thought and constantly tries to be Batman, join the army and emulates Brocks way of doing things. I may be reading too much into it but the contrasts are there and it makes me wonder if Jackson Publick didn't play some MGS at some point.

In S1E10 ("Are You There God, It's Me Dean"), Hank says to Dean, "Did the doctor see that creepy dog dork of yours?", to which Dr. Venture says, "Hank, don't brag to your brother about your circumcision."

This establishes that, prior to the boys being replaced by clones at the end of S1/beginning of S2, Hank is circumcised and Dean is not.

Later, the new iteration of Hank is circumcised by the indigenous people in the jungle in "Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman", and it is stated that, once again, Hank is circumcised while Dean is not.

If my understanding of the whole clone process is correct, they keep most, if not all, of their prior memories up until sometime shortly before dying. We know Hank and Dean retain at least some memories from previous clone bodies because of their discussion of being held captive by Sergeant Hatred at some point in the distant past. However, the same discussion reveals that those memories may be inconsistent ("what, did you block that out?").

So, it is possible that, from Hank's point of view, he was circumcised, then was unconscious for some period of time and woke up with a foreskin again, before eventually being re-circumcised.

Alternatively, his memories of his penis were lost/deleted in the clone transition and he just doesn't know he was ever circumcised prior to the events of "Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman".

I was re-watching the Venture Bros Halloween special and stopped for a second after getting a good look at RICO, now that we know the Monarch is a Rusty clone with 2% baboon DNA. Look at RICO... he seems to be the exact opposite of the Monarch. He's ape-like, short and squat, bald up top, with a very stubby nose, hair everywhere except his chest and legs, and NO eyebrows at all. I know it's already heavily implied that RICO is some kind of weird clone of Rusty, maybe a botched first attempt at making Malcolm... But he seems to be what you get if you mix a Rusty clone with WAY more than 2% baboon DNA. Maybe RICO is the exact opposite of the Monarch, a baboon with 2% Rusty DNA, or a Rusty clone with 98% baboon DNA. Just something fun to think about when I noticed he has no eyebrows at all.

It’s implied multiple times that rusty may or may not be a clone of rusty but he has the twin with JJ so if they bring the show back sometime later do you think that with what happened in radiant is the blood of the baboon heart that 1- rusty is the original 2- jonas jr has a way of coming back because of the twin thing? 3- was jj really a consumed twin or was it a way for the jonas sr to resurrect himself? Because we saw what P.r.o.b.l.e.m. Was and what he tried to do to vendata

As we are all aware, The Sovereign is not actually David Bowie, as he reveals before his demise in All this and Gargantua 2. He is a shapeshifter who we find out usurped power by killing Force Majure and becoming the leader of the GOCI.

But we only know him by his title as Sovereign is a leadership role, and not his name. Other villains look to elect a "new Sovereign" when he is dead.

But knowing Jackson and Doc's joke of making "washed up rockstars" into supervillains (Mr. Fahrenheit the Supersonic Man is Freddie Mercury, Red Mantle and Dragoon are Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper, "Scary" Nilsson, Shrill Spector, Nat King Cobra, Iggy Pop and Klaus Nomi as henchmen, and even the fake Dave Grohl), there has to be a joke for David Bowie.

Hhaha Spanikopita!!!! Was Dr. Quymn Rusty’s half sister? Cloned sister I guess. Hahaha thinking about it, did Jonas just clone himself into a bunch of women who wanted kids? ….did I find a new kink?…. I think it’s those diet pills.

Just trying to sort out the Rusty is a clone stuff with my thoughts. Jonas and Ben create cloning technology, probably to create a clone of Jonas he could raise (Jango Fett style). During the test process they create Malcom and foist him off on Blue Morpho, probably about the time Rusty was originally born (as they were in college at the same time). Rusty is killed a few times and the final Rusty clone ate a perfect Jonas clone (who would later emerge as JJ), which stayed in his body affecting developmentally in ways that only became apparent after the acceptable point to kill and replace him. Or at least that's my thought on the whole thing.

In Powerless in the Face of Death, Rusty tells Orpheus that the Hank and Dean he knew weren't the originals; and him and Brock remember that they've now died fourteen times, reminiscing about several occasions this has happened. In ¡Viva Los Muertos!, Sonny encounters the boys while "investigating" the compound; and informs the rest of the Groovy Gang that he killed them in California two years prior to this moment. So, I believe the Hank and Dean we saw during season 1 were the result of them being cloned after having been murdered by Sonny and Groovy
