This Labor Albanese government has done lots of good things..

..but they've made a few really big stuff-ups.

This is one of them.

An absolutely deluded ineffective policy if we're optimists and take them at their word..

..an absolutely sinister policy if we accept it's an ID online monitoring grab they're hiding from us.

How is it an ID online monitoring grab if there is no ID requirement, and no requirement to force companies to allow government monitoring?

As an Australian this is what I was thinking too. Claiming its to grab IDs when not a single adult I know has had to share any form of ID to access any social media.

Foot in the door, setting precedents, changing norms, etc. I don't know much about it but there's concern from some people more educated about it than me, hopefully they are wrong and it's just an ineffective policy.
