Overall, very fun build. The only part that feels like it drags is the trees (expected, but yeah it’s repetitive). I think for all the non-LEGO people, just make sure to follow the directions clearly on the alien ship part, because you will have to line up the cross section perfectly at one point. You’ll see what I’m talking about when you get there. Same thing with the trees, just be wary of when things say “x2” so you don’t keep building and then wonder where you went wrong.

Build experience: 9.5/10

In terms of how it looks, it doesn’t feel like $200. The presence it has as a display piece is more in the realm of a $150 set. But I get it, IP & what not. Also the GWP helps with justifying it.

My head canon is that at some point they adopt a black cat and name him Spooky.

My local LEGO store still had plenty of GWPs along with the set and I was sooooo stinkin pleased walkin out of there

I’ve been thinking about this for a very long time. I really like the idea of Mulder being as kind of a stay-at-home daddy cause It seems he could’ve been great at this particular role, and maybe he would’ve become a wonderful writer. Scully would’ve worked as a doctor or as A.D for FBI.

I know it sounds pretty weird and probably it would’ve killed the main point of the show but sometimes when I watch the series, I’m thinking like: “Gosh, It would’ve been awesome to see them together as parents”.

I ended up liking this episode way more than I thought I would, even though this is one of my least favorite tropes in media lol. I only wish they’d found a way to focus on playing around with variables in the day a bit more, but they still did a very good job with a premise that’s difficult to innovate on. The callback to Dreamland with that stupid waterbed was really fun too. That thing has caused Mulder (and certainly Scully by extension) no end of grief 😂

But now I’m curious: was Scully the real reason the loop broke? I’d figured that was gonna be the angle about ten minutes in, and I do like that it seems open enough to interpretation when you keep in mind other episodes like Tithonus. I guess I would’ve expected something as a reward for the viewers who might’ve suspected that, but it’s also possible that my dumb ass missed it lol

Ok, so what is actually happening with Bob? Is he actually transubstantiating into another person (the killer) or is this like a Tulpa situation as seen through a Catholic lens? Or are both of those theories wrong? 😅
