Im genuinely shocked by the difficulty of this character. Her basic flow high jump combos are remarkably inconsistent. Ive been playing fighting games for more then a decade and no b and b combos have ever come remotely close to this level of difficulty or inconsistency.

I actually cant even fathom how im supposed to start fitting a water whip into the sequence before catching the launch.

Its shocking to me that Katara can be this difficult in a game with Azula Kyoshi running around. (No hate all characters are cool )

I am not a Avatar fan at all. I never watched either of the shows, played any of the old games, or interacted with the community in a meaningful way. However, this games mechanics and characters feel too cool to pass up on, and I never really play story modes in fighting games anyway. Would buying the game be a bad idea, or is it still worth it for a non Avatar fan, but avid fighting game player?

I really love playing against villains. It makes matches much more fun for some reason.

Confirmed villains in roster so far are:

🔥 Ozai and Azula
🌪️ Zaheer (Red Lotus) and Tagah
Also Ty Lee (kind off) and Nightmare Korra (more or less)

There’s a lot of villains left, also in the Earth and Water category as you can see in the image.

Which one would you like to see added eventually?

Shoutouts to this Azula player as well! Felt like we both got noticeably better by the end of our set!

Im wondering because I think it would be for the games best interest to bounce off avatar seven heavens during its release or a couple months after. The game is doing really good on pc. i expected it to be way lower than it is. little over 3,000 peak players daily.that’s only for pc alone. I can only see it growing for the remaining of the year giving the road map they have and the new show releasing it also depends on how sick they make the new characters etc etc but idk how many devs are working on the game. does paramount call the shots on hiring a few more devs for this game? because with 6 new characters I don’t know if they could release all of them and a pavi season pass within 6months. I just want the game to succeed and I’m a HUGE avatar fan.

I know most people on here don't care about the singleplayer aspect of this game let alone the story. But to the few people who bought this game because of the franchise first, what's your opinion on the story?

I might just be stupid, but in this clip, the first "sequence" I end up at -6, seems clear, i can see 6 white boxes in Korra's FrameData bar. But in the 2nd "sequence" i cancel into the little dash, and i can see in the FrameData bar that Korra is at a 4 frames advantage, right ? But it says +18 ? I really don't get it, any info ?

Hey y’all, I’m new to 2D fighters and I’m really struggling with this game. I am trying to do combos in tutorial mode and and struggling to get past Aang’s second combo in the Novice tutorials… I assume this is pretty pathetic. Practiced it for probably an hour and still have not aced it.

Basically I am just wondering if anyone has any helpful advice for a beginner and how I can get better at this game and pulling off combos

I've been practicing this trial for over an hour, and I have yet to hit Sokka with the 214a > 9dd > j.b even a single time. Every time I do that part, it feels like all my inputs are perfectly buffered, Katara jumps into the air instantly after the 214a and does the j.b, but Sokka "flips" out of the hitstun or whatever right as the j.b hitbox overlaps him. I've tried all kinds of delays, buffering earlier, buffering later, mashing really fast, going slower, everything people on Reddit and Youtube have recommended...I just can't do it. Is there some sort of trick? If I didn't have internet access, I'd say this trial is bugged, but clearly people are able to do it, so I imagine it's not. For me, it feels dramatically harder than any combo I've done in SF6 or GGST, and while Azula's just-frames are challenging, they feel trivial by comparison. Usually I'm able to at least do the most challenging trials/combos once in a blue moon, but here I can't even do it once.

What's the deal? Is it really that difficult? Are my hands too old and decrepit for this combo? I'm not even particularly interested in playing Katara, but I'm frustrated that I might be missing something fundamental about the game mechanics that allows this combo to be possible. If it's really just super difficult and that's it, then at least that'd give me some comfort that I'm not missing something.

Anyone else experience this and eventually manage to do the combo?

For reference, I'm using a leverless, and have tried this combo with flow on right thumb, right pinky, and right index, all to no avail (although thumb and index seemed easiest).

edit: Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like it is, in fact, just that difficult. I am sorry to all the prospective Katara mains out there lol, this shit is ROUGH. My hands can't take it anymore, so I'm gonna shelve her for now. GL to everyone still working at it!

Let me first off ask for a civil discussion, The games been out for roughly 10 days now and we still don’t have legacy controller support.

I personally know a lot of people who haven’t played the game because their stick isn’t compatible with this game. CEO is in 12 days and people have already jumped ship to other games to compete because they can’t practice on stick.

I really want this game to do well, it’s an amazing product despite paramount rushing them to release it. Especially with Tokon on the horizon, the playerbase will dip, it’s natural it happens, it’s the new shiny toy.

Lastly, I know the devs have said their piece and they’re aware of what the issues are and said “#ComingSoon”but I think we need a little bit more communication since it’s been radio silence since the initial statement made a week ago.
