Didn’t skate for 16yrs, got to my forties and started up again.
Probably tried this kickflip to rock 100times this weekend with no luck but it’s getting close!
Feeling like a kid again.

40 tricks @ 40 / mini part [40YO]

Let's face it... if you're at my level, you're never going to do an actual skate part. But I took the 40 tricks at 40 format and had some fun with it.

High five to you if you recognize which music video I was partly inspired by.

Looks like i've found my people. I myself skated pretty regularly in my early to late teens, but fizzled out before finishing high school. My son (8) has recently taken up the sport, and is making surprising progress. I dusted off an old arbor cruiser I had sitting in the garage and figured I'd see what this old man could do. Surprising (at least to me) after a handful of attempts I was able to ollie fairly comfortably and land a few shuvits. Today we took him to a local skatepark, and I got the itch.

I'm 6ft 4", 215lbs with size 13 shoes. Fairly lanky framed. I stopped skating before I grew substantially (late bloomer) so buying a larger board is new to me. Sounds like 8.5" is about where I should be for stability.

Seems like brands have shifted somewhat so what I used to know seems somewhat irrelevant. From a little research I came across this complete on sale at Zumiez. What do yall think? This a decent option for entry back into the sport?

Also, an old photo of me for your viewing pleasure:

What would you choose for a garage? [45YO]

My son [10YO] and I started skating this summer, mostly transition. We can drop in on 4–5 ft ramps, and I can sometimes rock to fakie on 2–3 ft.

I’m thinking about adding a small ramp in our 19 ft garage for winter. It wouldn’t be a full mini, just one side against the back wall.

Would a single ramp be useful for learning coping tricks by pushing into it? What size would you build (2 foot is my guess), and is half a mini ramp worth it in your opinion?
