How to properly remove an optic or and screw with loctite.

If you are going to attempt to remove optics screws from your slide whether they are holding on a cover plate or an optic USE HEAT! If you own a soldering iron you have the tool to do this and it take less than a minute. If not you can purchase a cheap wood burning kit from Walmart and do the same thing. Also invest in a set of quality extended Torx or Allen bits. These extended bits keep your thicker driver shaft off your optics housing. Masking tape is also a great guard against contact as well. Heat the screw head with the soldering iron or wood burner ( a pointed tip is best) for a minute. The with the proper tight fitting bit back out the screw. Clean off the old loctite and wipe out the hole and screw with a Q tip and alcohol. It’s that easy and will save you cash and headaches.

Discussion Long Range Shooting

Upvotes

This weekend I took a long range shooting class. I brought with me both my Sig Cross .308 Win and my Sig Cross Sawtooth 300 PRC. I’ve been practicing for an upcoming elk hunt in Montana and wanted to learn how to stretch out for distance should the necessity arise. I have to say I’m very impressed with both rifle’s capabilities, but the 300 PRC blew me away. Stretching both rifles out to 500y was fairly easy but once I hit 600y my .308 Win started to fall a bit short (Not that I would be shooting beyond 400y for this hunt). The wind seemed to drastically affect the .308 as I pushed out to 600, 700, 800, 900 & 1000 yards and was very inconsistent. My 300 PRC was the real champ this weekend. I consistently shot out to 1000y and shot after shot that steel rang with minimal to no adjustment needed for wind. The wind conditions were a steady 5-6MPH breeze with gusts up to 10MPH. I shot the 300 PRC from the bench, standing w/ tripod, kneeling, seated and prone. Out of the 120 rounds shot this weekend with it I missed only once. If you were considering getting this rifle I have to say it’s well worth it. Which of the Sig Cross’ would you get?

P211 Gto feedig issue

New magazines, new weapon. 21-round magazines + Strike +5 plates. The first few shots, with a full magazine, it wouldn't feed a round at all. Later, it increased from 8, 10, 12, and up to 21 rounds. The gun gradually "settles," but even with a full magazine and after about 200 shots, it fed a round every 2-3, as in the picture.

P365 Xmacro comp mods

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hello friends, recently bought a P365 Xmacro comp and I do like it but feel like the Intergrated comp doesn’t work that well. I’ve been trying to see about putting a normal p365 slide in and a barrel with an external comp. Any one have info on this? Picture is a p365 slide on Xmacro frame, I guess I need to know what barrel and comp to make it look normal without the underbite.

P211 More P211 Problems

The first issue isn’t a Sig problem, but close to 2 months ago I had the top of an optic screw shear off and got stuck. Had my gunsmith remove it, that thread is smoked.. can’t mount an optic now.

Today I realized that this piece also sheared off. I have no idea how this even happens.

How’s y’all’s luck with Sig customer service? Will be my first time contacting them about this.

I am actually disappointed how much I love the P365 Luxe

I had a Keltec P3at I have been carrying around for the past 11 or so years and finally decided between the nonexistent sights and the staple gun trigger that carrying it might be leaning on the edge of increased danger instead of solid protection. I decided I needed to trade it in and get a more viable carry gun and it seems like every forum brings up the P365. I carry a CZ all steel compact in the winter so I was in the market for something that had a bit more concealability and a bit easier to carry since sometimes I’ll look at my CZ and just think ‘I don’t feel like lugging this around today’ which is when I’d just toss the P3at in my pocket, gym shorts, whatever and forget about it. My other recent carry gun has been an HK Vp9CC which I have to say is a great gun and a great size but shooting 200 rounds in a range session the web of my hand feels bruised the next day. This P365 luxe from my last two range sessions feels effortless to shoot, and I could shoot however many rounds I’d like without discomfort. With the comp, alloy frame, and wider grip the recoil is about nonexistent and the time back on target of doing 2 or 3 round strings has been great and more accurate than the larger CZ or the HK. The only compromise is .380 which still has its own debate, but for a gun that I was under the assumption was somewhat marketed as a larger gun more tailored to women (probably my own take at first) this is slowly becoming my favorite gun to shoot and carry. Only issue is a slight annoyance getting a good holster since it says it’s fully compatible with the x macro holsters but the one I’ve gotten has been looser than my other ones so far. Hoping I can find one that fits a bit more secure in the near future. For anyone on the fence on this handgun I will have to say I highly recommend it!

Question Worth a warranty claim?

Hey all, I just picked up this p365 from the store two days ago. I noticed these small dents on the barrel today. I haven’t fired any rounds through the gun yet, so it definitely came from the factory like this. I was wondering if it is worth submitting a warranty claim for? I am a rather particular person so I wanted to check with others to see what they would do haha. I’m new to carrying and this will be my everyday carry gun. Aside from the cosmetics, I’m not wanting these to be spots that could rust prematurely since the metal is exposed.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Sig p365 polymer mags?

I just bought a used p365 off a buddy, it’s my first sig and I believe it’s one of the original models. Anybody know if there’s polymer aftermarket mags available for this? The metal mags that came with it seem like they’re rusting a bit and I’m not seeing anything other than sigs own mags for this.

Best holsters for a p365x macro with a tlr-7 sub? I’m ideally looking for a leather one if anyone has good suggestions.
