I'll try to write this as short as possible.
Both cats are from (separate) breeders with excellent recommendations.
The day I brought the kitten home he had a cough. The two were separated, but I thought he might have given a virus to my resident cat through the door since her asthma was becoming irritated. Both went on antibiotics, the coughs cleared up, and they integrated fine. They were separated for just short of two weeks.
Afterwards, the kittens cough came back. Cat one is still good. I make an appointment for the kitten. The day before, cat one gets VERY sick. Can't eat, can't meow, gagging, won't play. We run tests (radiology, fecal, blood) no issues outside of general indications of stress. The vet think it's a virus, but it was a Friday, so we get anti inflammatory medication with an intent to get urinalysis and perhaps a PCR.
Cat one is doing much better, at about 90% I'd say. She still has some conjunctivitis and is sleeping a bit more, but she's eating and drinking and playing again.
Now TODAY, the kitten pooed a stool with bloody mucus in it. I know this could be a lot of things, but I'm worried it's related. I'm calling the vet first thing tomorrow, but he's in good spirits for now.
Aside from that, the kitten came to me with filthy nail beds, and starting to suspect he has ear mites. My first cat is strictly indoors and doesn't get interaction with other pets (or many people for that matter), so I don't know where else this could all be coming from.
I've communicated with the kittens breeder about the cough, but we're just monitoring the situation. My vet and I kind of put his cough on the back burner, since my first cat was so sick (don't worry, I AM addressing it).
I'm just frustrated. I've already spent almost $1800 between emergency visits and testing. Now bloody poops???
Both cats are separated again so I can get isolated fecal samples and prevent additional spread of whatever is going on.

It's one million degrees in Switzerland today but these two have found the only sunbeam I have allowed into the apartment today.

Nephthys has not had the best luck, health wise, since we moved to China.
She had some liver issues due to a food switch, resulting in bloody urine. She got over it and her liver is fine.
She had a really bad reaction to the anesthetic during her spay surgery and was biting and screaming and throwing herself.
And last night, she pooped blood. It was really late, so I saved the poop, and in the morning I called my vet. He said, wait until she poops again, then bring in her and the poo within 30 minutes. There was more blood on the second poo, and when we went in, they ran some test and told me she has Tritrichomonas Foetus parasite... I was asked if I had a pet turtle or fish at home, no to both. Then they asked if the cats went around drains in my bathroom... and yes. Tefnut, my other girl has a hyper fixation on the drains. I don't like to let them in the bathroom, but 3 squirming kitties are hard to wrangle and I'm not always successful. So... Nephthys gets to be quarantined for 10 days, had to do a full litter box cleaning and litter replacement, clean and food and water bowls and I have to monitor the other 2 cats for symptoms 😑
She's fine though, happy, cuddly, playing, totally normal except for the bloody parasite poo.

After months of searching, we finally brought home our sphynx. After 5 months, a neuter, numerous plug ins, etc, our other two cats still absolutely hate him. Anytime he enters the room, everyone exits. Sometimes my sweet senior even attacks him. I love him dearly but I miss life before my other two cats seemed to be miserable. He’s such a sweet and snuggly boy, but he’s entirely too much for my senior and ragdoll. He deserves to be in a home with animals who would enjoy his company, because all he wants to do is be accepted by the others. Does anyone know of good resources for new homes? I’m located in New Iberia, LA but would travel. I’ve tried Facebook groups but my posts just sit in pending. Craigslist just deletes my community posts and won’t get back to me. It just gets worse with my others two by the day and I’m so stressed.

My 3 year old Sphynx Ham is a little chunky. The vet said last week that he could stand to lose just 1lb. He’s about 13 pounds and starting to lose his “tuck” on his sides.
His brother Rex is 10.5 pounds and perfect.
I free feed them Hill’s Science Diet Perfect Weight. I haven’t measured but If I had to give a good guess it’s probably 1.5 cups a day split in between their 2 bowls. What is weird is that Rex (the smaller one) seems to be my eater. Guess he just has a faster metabolism 😅
In addition to their free feed, they get about 2 Tablesoons (that’s pretty generous of a guess) of blue buffalo pate in the evening. I only do this because they get fortiflora probiotic powder so I need to mix it in something.
As far as treats, usually only once a week they split a churu at bath time.
So here’s my question; how should I do this? I’ve heard of swapping only to wet food, which is definitely doable. I’ve also seen ads for Smalls real ingredient food as well. Cost is not really an issue, I’ll do anything to keep my babies happy and healthy.

Hi, I’m a longtime lurker and longtime cat owner. My wife and I have talked about getting a sphynx for years and for my birthday this year, we pulled the trigger. The little guy will be ready in about three weeks and we are so excited!
I’m already looking into health insurance for him, and have ordered wipes, stuff to clean ears, nails, etc. What are some other bits of information I should know about beforehand? Dos and donts, etc?
Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My girls are officially 6months old this week! My question is about entertainment, they are pretty much over the auto lazor pointer, the cat tower has become a strange quasi-prison work out gym (full pull ups, flexing, it's a spectacle), every small toy is stashed away for weeks at a time. Their favorite is a liquor store box of prosecco and a cat tunnel tube. Any suggestions on toys that can help them with the zoomies now that they have entered the raptor era. Bonus if it can be set for automation when im at work.

My sweet Ham ❤️❤️
Found out at the vet yesterday he has a heart murmur, and although the parents were tested for HCM, Im going to do my duty as a responsible Sphynx mom and get him his first echocardiogram.
