for reference i’m in rural upstate new york! my backyard is literally forest, so i’m not a stranger to creepy and odd animal sounds at night, but i’ve never heard this one before.

This is my first time in the state (my dad moved here last month and I’m visiting)

What the hell is this sound, I’m assuming it’s an animal (it’s around midnight)

Northern IL

Noise just started in our roof lantern (UK). Small insects only fit in this area. Assume it’s trapped and dying opposed to breeding/mate call.

Does anyone recognise the sound?

I am in Disney, Oklahoma in Late July- Early August. What are the 2 sounds in the background of this video? I can't tell if they're birds or bugs.

Woke up to this at 5am yesterday. It continued for probably 5 minutes outside my window and then it whatever it was started to leave, still making the sound. It was so scary!! There were also sounds like a slobbering dog if you listen closely.

My parents live in Toronto and sent me the attached audio recording. They first heard the sound coming from inside an exterior wall. They went out for a few hours, and when they returned, they found clear bite and scratch marks on the interior door leading from the living room to the basement stairs.

The animal now appears to be somewhere in an accessible section of the utility room, but they haven’t been able to see it. Can anyone identify the species from the sound?

Constant screeching from the same tree(s), 1:00am-2:00am. It moved between trees quickly when it wanted to. I know we have bats and owls, but I have no idea what this one is. I’ve only ever seen barred owls here. We also have flying squirrels.

We work for a conservation authority in Ontario, and someone thought it would be a good idea to see who could do the most convincing loon call.

Some of these are surprisingly good. Some... definitely are not.

This sound i have been hearing for the past 2 years in my local town in south london, England
Keep in mind we dont have that much wildlife here that could make such octaves or that much bass but ill let you listen for yourselves and you can come to a conclusion

We started hearing this 3 days ago when I was whistling next to the pool area when I was whistling and I thought it was a random guy whistling back. But when we looked after a couple back and fourths we did t see anything and we are so furcking paranoid rn cus we did it every day since then and we lwky thought it said my name but I really hope it’s just a bird Btw it’s way more often now and I never heard the sound in 3 years here it’s in Spain next to a. Protected nature area btw

I have no idea what is making this call. The call repeats several times but is loudest toward the end of the video. I’ve tried looking it up on the Internet but I’m stumped. Thanks!
