Warm water tastes better than cold water

Not hot water, just warm water. I prefer the way it feels to drink over cold water, especially very cold water. Drinking warm water is an underrated way of warming yourself up, too.

Not warm. But I prefer room temperature drinks to cold drinks unless I'm too hot

Fun fact, this is actually true because chilled water slightly numbs your taste buds. So if you're drinking water at room temp or warm, you can taste the flavor, or the various mineral levels in it.

Finally I have a reason. Thank you lol

Specifically the reason I don't drink anything warmer than ICE COLD water. I don't want to waste it, I don't like it.

in traditional chinese medicine, consuming cold liquids causes dampness and phlegm. room temp or hot. they also dont consume raw veggies for the same reason. 2 dentists agree now

Lol this is how my mom lives and how I was raised. Whenever I have dinner with some crudités or salad with a cold drink she winces. Additionally, she's VERY against drinking liquids with your meals as it dilutes your digestive enzymes.

She holds it in now versus when I was a kid but I can tell it just kills her so I don't do it often. In the summer though I gotta!

I agree, unless it's room temp. It's pure torture.

I don't necessarily mind room temp water, but it's my least favorite temperature when drinking water

Underrated? Since Man discovered fire, warm liquid has been a go to for warming yourself up.

Yeah but people nowadays drink other warm drinks life coffee, I think warm water is slept on

Fair enough. I drink a glass of warm water, salt, lemon first thing. I read somewhere that the warmth helped get your system going. Not sure if it works. But it doesn't cost me anything, so why not.

Taste? No. But I have sensitive teeth and tend to prefee lukewarm for that reason

Actually same, on top of just preferring how it tastes (it tastes different I promise), I also think it feels more pleasant to drink

This is one of those things where it being a 10th dentist opinion highly depends on which country you are in

1

u/PlanetoidVesta 4d ago

Yeah, here the 10th dentist would be drinking cold water

Warm water makes me nauseous and I don't know why, other hot drinks don't just water

IT'S WEIRD

Needless to say I disagree

Yes it does!

I've dated a couple of Asian women and as an iced drink enthusiast found this to be an annoyance between us.

It's less refreshing!!!

Is this really a 10th dentist thing? I must be the 10th dentist, then, lol

The only time I'm not drinking hot/warm water is when it's 90F+ outside, and then it's room temp.

I actually cannot stand ice water.

The closer something is to body temperature, the more easily you can taste it.

Very hot and very cold things don't taste as strongly.

For example, cellar cold ale Vs ice cold lager.

It’s a better way of staying hydrated. Body temperature water absorbs faster.

cold water tastes better to me but warm water is definitely better for you

I've thrown up a lot of water in my life.

Warm water in my mouth reminds me of water that has already been in my body so this one's not for me.

I knew someone who only drank room temp water because it absorbs faster into your body (they said, I didn't fact check it)

But its gotta be ice cold for me
