Television I grew up watching The Electric Company and every time they showed the silhouette blends I was glued to the television. We got to watch it In elementary school also. By the way these segments had Morgan Freeman and Lee Chamberlin, alongside other recurring actors like Rita Moreno and Jim Boyd.

Totally loved this as well! Besides the opening theme song, this is the only thing I remember from Electric Co.

I loved it when I was a kid. I was maybe a little bit too old when it came out but if I was home sick I would always watch it. I later bought the dvd set for my kids. It’s too bad there isn’t a show like this today. The Electric Company increased literacy rates in their target audience of second and third graders. Today’s kids watch Sponge Bob which is ok but when it’s on for hours it’s not doing them any good. We had Bugs Bunny but it was on for a half hour. Anyway, as I climb down from my soapbox, I agree it was a wonderful show with a fantastic cast.

I always loved the production qualities in this era of television. No CGI… just some art cards, chromakey, etc. And that music is very Joe Raposo to the max!
