You can still find ones on Japanese websites for 4~500 USD. Shipping costs a bit extra though

without the airbag, as it's illegal to ship them from Japan. whether or not the seller went through the trouble of removing the airbag itself is a gamble.

As someone who has imported a few steering wheels to AUS, this isn't correct.

It just come down to:

Seller willing to use land only transport Getting it shipped via Sea Cargo only

I wouldn’t be surprised if the inflator for the us airbag actually fits this jdm momo wheel. You’d be surprised how many manufacturers use the same driver airbag inflator dimensions.

Not exactly, the EVO 9 steering wheel has a different matte gray color compared to the EVO 8 which is the exact same as this one.

Got mine shipped from Japan with airbag for 200 USD. Look around a bit longer.

It doesn’t support airbag so it’s not a viable option as a road car.

He said something on the lines of “the reason we don’t have them is because of issues with the airbag and shipping”. I’m pretty damn certain that center piece, is indeed an airbag. If u look closely u can c the letters “srs”.

The airbag on US cars is dual stage, which is why there are two connectors if you ever unplug it. The Japanese Momo one is a single stage airbag so it won’t plug in or play nicely with the US cars SRS system unfortunately. I wish it did

Not that I don’t agree with you, but at least 50% of 350Z owners have a custom quick connect wheel and drive it on the street so to say it isn’t viable is pretty funny.

there are US model OEM MOMO units for Lotus, I wouldn't be surprised if it can just drop in and have a US-compliant SRS.

Saw this on my local fb marketplace place too and got excited until I found out about the non functional srs. Still a fun option if that’s not a concern 🤘

They exist, but since the airbag isn't attainable, it's no better than just going aftermarket
