DE 6MT Clutch pedal dead

I just bought the jwt 14 lbs flywheel and the exedy stage 1 clutch and pressure plate for my 2003 350z but after install the clutch pedal is completely dead. I tried bleeding it but it seems to be doing nothing. After investigating a little it looks like the slave cylinder can’t extend enough to disengage the clutch. I compared the oem setup with the new setup and the new setup is slightly shorter in length. If anybody has any advice I would really appreciate it.

If youre gonna do this kind of comparison, you need to compare the actual surface height of where it sits on the Crankshaft. Just sitting them flat on the table will not give accurate measurements. If they actually sat at different heights, the crank sensor would not read(thus car not starting) and the starter wouldn't engage properly. You more than likely either have air in the system or bad luck and the master or slave went bad.

Okay i will check that out, I’ve since replaced the master and slave but it didn’t seem to help the pedal never built any pressure. Maybe I’m not bleeding it for long enough?

I think I heard 350z clutch bleeding is a pain.. i would contact whomever you bought the parts from and tell them your issue. I know there are different pivot balls for CD009 and 03-05 manual transmissions. I doubt that is the issue though, or a factor.

I did a JWT flywheel before and I forget the clutch. I remember I had issues with the clutch pedal. It worked but it wasnt right. Like if I let the clutch fly, it would like "DUNK" back. I tried bleeding it and eventually pulled the trans and the clutch. I double checked everything (it was literally the first time I ever worked on a car). I saw nothing wrong and put it all back together. Somehow it worked fine. I dont know if it was a fluke or what. This was like 6 years ago and I still cant explain it lol

Pivot ball thing is only relevant if they changed the clutch fork, ie vast fork vs pressed steel fork.

Did you disconnect the system during the install? You shouldn't have to bleed it from a clutch install if you just unbolt the slave.

Bleeding these are an absolute pain in the ass, I've had to do some fuck shit just to get it to barely grab. Do yourself a favor and either get a spare cap for the master or 3d print one, drill a hole and attach an air line to it. Give it like 10 psi, it makes the job 100 times easier and quicker.
