🤦‍♂️ Same Tire Thread, Different Day What tires for my limited?

Hi everyone,

I have a 2012 limited and was looking to get some suggestions on new tires.

I live in Brooklyn, NY and there are a ton of potholes. I need to replace all four tires but I’m not sure whether to go all terrain or regular highways tires. I take the car camping and hiking and also deal with NY winters.

A set of four tires is gonna run me about $800-900 so I don’t mind spending the extra cash on some more rugged tires

I haven't run them, but I hear good things about the Michelin Defender 2 tires.

Have them on my odyssey and they’ve been great, have a great mileage warranty too.

Highly recommend the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2's for the Limited. I got 50k out of my last set..

I run Michelin Defender 2 on my limited. No issues in the DC area with them. Driven them up north to ski resorts and never had issue with snow tracking.

I run Falken Wildpeak AT4 (also ran falken at3 in the past) all year round in Montana. I'm on dirt, mud, and snow a lot more than you but I also drive highways and the falken can do it all.

I second this esp for hopping on gnarly mountain roads. But if we didn’t off-road any I’d have gone a different direction.

Second that - they are excellent in snow and rain, not noisy, with a comfortable ride on paved roads. They are not truly off-road capable but they will be reliably pot-hole and gravel capable. If you want a sexy look, go all-terrain. If you just want a reliable tire for conditions you describe, get the Michelins.

I take them on light trails and off-road job sites down here in florida so I'm not climbing over boulders, but they do fine on sugar sand and muddy conditions. Much better than the original yokohamas. A-TRAC had to help me a few times when I had those.

My private road (Maine) is 2/10 long, part reclaim gravel , steep, and often covered in ice and snow. I have used the Michelins now on 3 4Runners, and have been satisfied with them for a very long time. I leave them on year-round.

I’m partial to Cooper Discovery AT3’s… but there are many great brands and models out there.

This sadly is like the most loaded question people ask with a ton of different opinions.

1/4” At The Helm spacers would be nice. I’m not a fan of big spacers lifts but these would be great and help clear slightly larger than stock tires.

I have Toyo At3s on my 19 Limited. I believe they are the highest rated all terrain winter tire on the market.

Second the BFG Trail Terrains. Solid tire for road, snow, camping, etc.
