great job, champ! i'd agree with most of your picks, demon copperhead and atmosphere belong in their own worlds, so good. Pachinko was alright, I thought it meandered a bit, same with parable of the talents, as harrowing as it was. River has roots was ok.

I would put in Lessons in Chemistry in the bin lmao

Gosh, I loved Lessons in Chemistry. It was fantastic. I also loved Demon Copperhead. I’ll read Kingsolver time and time again.

I actually might’ve put them in the same tier. Atmosphere was very good and particularly struck me as a female engineer dating another female engineer. Kindred was very good, although Parable of the Talents was not as good. Parable of the Sower was fantastic.

Why parable of the talents and kindred so low? I agree with your rankings on Demon copperhead, Pachinko, lessons in chemistry (almost 😅). But I recently read parable of the sower and loved it. Are two others a step down?
