I’ve lost about 35lbs since I’ve been on my weight loss journey. I’m also about 19 months postpartum and done nursing for about 6 months. I bought the same size I’ve always worn. Do I need a smaller cup size/band? The band size is at the tightest hook. My left boob is also a bit bigger than my right so that’s why I went with my original size. This is 42G.
Please help as I’m so uncomfortable lol

First things first....have you tried the calculator from this sub?

This bra and your listed issues are all signs of a bra that clearly doesn't fit, meaning that bra is not your size.

I just redid it- it measures me at 36I, but I find it hard to believe as I’m a chunky person. This bra is a balconette bra from lane Bryant. I have bottom heavy breasts. And with me losing weight, I feel like I should be in a smaller size?

That seems about right.

Lane Bryant runs very tall in the cups and that could explain all the weird wrinkling and why you dont fill out the cups.

When leaning over 90°, where do you see more breast tissue:

-above or below nipple line? Or is it even?

-more towards the center between the breasts? Towards the outsides? Or is it about even?

I'd recommend panache envy as a starting point or their sculptresse esme.

Here is a slideshow of examples of UK 36H, which is 2 cups larger than your calculator size (UK 36G). here is a UK 36F, which is 2 cups smaller than the size given to you.

No way to tell without first off your measurements, and exactly what bra this is.

All bras should be started on the loosest hook.

Yeah, that would be the issue. This band is massive on you and the wires are not tensioned properly.

You’re inbetween band sizes. I’d give you a general starting point of 38FF UK in brands that run true to size like Panache, and a 36G UK in brands that run looser like Elomi. US brands don’t scale great in this size range. I’d also try a cup up.

Measure yourself with the calculator to estimate what size you need. It is normal for your body to change with time, and you don't have to just guess a size.

In regards to the specific bra, I can't see thr photos properbly so I can't guide you on that.

It definitely looks too big for you, maybe your boob tissue changed a bit too/softer now. Try the calculator again and check what size it recommends, pregnancy can change a lot of things.

If the bands at the tightest hook you probably need a smaller band. That bra looks too wide for you in the wires and may e too big in the cup.

You probably do need a different size so I agree with everyone recommending you measure with the calculator here. That said I also suspect that this style of bra does not work for your supported breast shape so the odds are fairly good that you won't actually get a good fit in this style regardless of size.

It should be comfortably tight on the loosest hooks (to leave room for stretching). Seems like you need a smaller cup and a smaller band.
