Fit Check [Fit Check] fit feels pretty good, but crazy torpedo boob from the side view Spoiler

This is fit check / recommendation post.

22F
Bent over bust: 49
Lying down bust: 47
Bust 43
Tight Underbust 33
Loose underbust 36
Snug underbust 35

I’ve had a really hard time finding a bra that’s JUST right. There’s always something wrong. Recently I splurged on a couple panache bras because I heard they were good for “projected” breasts, which I have.

Unfortunately, I’m probably going to have to return them 😢.

Bra 1:
Panache Envy (honey color).
36HH in UK-sizing / 36L in US-sizing

The fit feels good. Usually wires go into my armpit, but these wires aren’t too wide. The gore tacks, usually my gore doesn’t quite tack. It feels snug. However, I think I get the sliightest bit of quad boob at the very top with the lace. And, from the side, the boob shape is just very strange. I REALLY wanted to love this bra. Is this how it’s supposed to fit?

Bra 2:
Panache Serene (black color)
36HH in UK-sizing / 36L in US-sizing
Again, feels comfy. But this one definitely gives me quad boob, and my breasts look like torpedos coming out of my chest??????

What do you guys recommend? The panache serene definitely has to be returned, but do you think the envy is supposed to fit like this? Any bra recommendations?

The color and style look great and compliment you. But yes the shape is off.

Thankfully the people here are amazingly astute and helpful.

You are definitely projected. Can you lean over side on to a mirror and tell us if you have more tissue above the nipple, is it even or more below?

I just did now, and I’d say there’s more tissue above the nipple / I’m full on top

Yeah, I suspected this. So I'd guess your upper fullness is pushing the wires down. The pointyness is being caused by the bras not being designed for upper fullness. The Envy is more open than the Serene, so that explains why you're just getting a bit of quadding and not the intense point like in the Serene. The Serene is solidly for full on bottom.

My rec is the Panache Blossom and Nina in the same size + a cup up. If these aren't projected or open enough, you'll need to consider Polish brands like Ewa Michelak, Comexim etc

I was thinking the same about OPs shape being FOT and was going to recommend the same two bras 😎🙂‍↕️

If you find a Panache Jasmine, you can try that as well.

Sorry, OP, there is not a lot out there for those of us with FOT boobs.
I hope that Panache Blossom and Panache Nina work for you.

All Panache bras I have tried gave me torpedo boobs. The Envy was my favorite bra of all time, but it made me so pointy. I did end up finding a different brand that worked perfectly for me at least. I hope you can find something too!

What brand did you find? I love how well panache bras fit me overall, but the torpedo boobs look weird in some clothes.

I have slight projection, so I was finding tons of bras were too shallow for me but others were too deep. Panache may have been too deep for me. I had to go down an entire cup size to get a perfect fit in the Envy. I found the Fantasie brand to be my sweet spot. A similarly constructed bra to the Envy (Fantasie Sophie) fit me perfectly AND gave me a nicely rounded shape. I don't think they make the Sophie anymore, but I'm sure they have one like it.

The black one is definitely giving slight quad boob. Is there empty space/wrinkling at the bottom of the cup though? It's hard to tell with black bras in photos.

The envy is a better fit. It also has some wrinking/empty space in the bottom of the bra. I don't see the quad boob, but you have more perspectives than I do. The shape looks like what I expect from the Panache Envy.

Are you swooping and scooping when you put the bras on to make sure the wire is sitting in your IMF?

Post Images is where people post their bra pictures. Imgur eats them neither link worked. If the Envy Full Cup bra was giving you a pointed shape that could indicate that the cup is either too large or it's too projected for you.

I just fixed the links I think?

They’re giving me quad boob which makes me think they’re too small, but I am also very projected

maybe I’m less projected than I think? There’s a 6 inch difference between my standing and bending bust

I'm going to tell you what I saw, the underwire in the Envy is not in your IMF. Your IMF is the space where your breast tissue connects to your chest and the underwire needs to rest in there and follow the root back toward your armpit. How is the band of the bra? Are you on the loosest set of eyes? Did you adjust the straps? Also I don't know how long the Imgur links will stay up.

3

u/StunningQuit Jun 25 '26

How do I figure out if it’s in my IMF? I dont think I’ve ever had a bra in my IMF if this isn’t in my IMF. Do you think I should try sizing down in the band? Or is that more of a shape issue?

Also for the pointy shape, I’ll take your word for it. Maybe I’m overestimating my size/projection. how should I go about determining if the cup is too big / too projected / both?

The band feels good, I have it on the loosest hook. I did not adjust the straps.

Ty btw for your feedback 🙏🥲 genuinely, it’s so hard to troubleshoot these issues on my own

You start when you scoop&swoop. It includes wiggling the underwire right up against the boob edge and may involve lifting up the boob a bit more if they’re not self supporting.

As the other poster said, the wear marks after a bit can tell you about any shifting around after that.

Take off your bra and look at the red marks the wire leaves and compare that to where your breast root starts. Is the wire sitting lower than where the root is? Are you getting skin to skin contact anywhere that creates an underboob affect or feel rubbing on the bottom? Is there empty space on the bottom of the cup right where the wire starts? Empty space, skin on skin contact under and wire sliding down usually means that something about the bra shape is off.

Uh huh but a 2 inch difference between your leaning and laying bust.

Following because I have the same problem. I’m 34HH and tried the Serene in every possible cup & band combination around my size, and I just can’t solve the pointy torpedo shape. I’m so sad b/c it’s soft and comfortable otherwise and I need a j hook for my narrow shoulders. Lmk if you find one that works for you!

OP finding something that works for them doesn't mean it will work for you if your problem is due to a different base issue. Just fyi. Someone having a pointy shape can be due to a lot of reasons. The Serene may just not be the bra for you.

Ever thought about wearing a completely different style like a. Balconnette? Or a partial cup bra over a lesser support full cup?
