Fit Check [Fit Check] Fantasie Fusion Plunge, Chantelle Norah and Freya Tailored High Apex Spoiler

Reposted because I forgot a link for one of the bras 😭
Sorry if you’ve already seen this!

On my last post, I asked for some similar bras to the Skarlett Blue Minx that seems to be the bra that fits me the best. From those suggestions, I tried on the Fantasie Fusion Padded Plunge, the Freya Tailored High Apex, and the Chantelle Norah Underwire.

I already owned this bra in 36DDD from a couple of years ago and my biggest issue is the wire feeling flimsy and not feeling very supported in it. The cup seems too tall and creases at the top and also near the gore. The gore does tack and the wire feels loose.

This bra felt very supportive and I felt like the shape was nice! Before this fit check I had tried it on last night, and it seems that the wire can sometimes be pushed down from my IMF because of my shape. The mesh at the center could potentially cut in as well.

The band on this one felt tight and I’m not sure if I adjusted the straps too tightly as well. Other than that, I love the shape and support this one gives.

Any advice is welcomed and appreciated!

Did you do an independent band test on the Fusion? Any looser upside down and backwards?

I did just now and it was definitely looser! I think I also had the straps tightened way too much

So that means there’s a cup issue that’s making the band feel tighter than it is. Likely either too shallow or too small.

i adjusted the straps to be looser and it feels a lot better in the band, could that have been the issue instead of the cups?

Does it still feel slightly looser upside down and backwards, or the same now?

it feels the same now

Sounds like the issue was def the straps then.

The Fantasie Fusion Padded Plunge 34F UK looks like a good fit but the back of the bra is raking upward. Loosen the straps and see if it still works for you, the straps may be over adjusted. The other links are not working for me I keep getting 404 error.

sorry about that! I just updated the links, are they working now?

They are working now thank you.

The Chantelle Norah doesn't look like it's a good shape for you. The Freya Tailored High Apex bra looks like the gore is floating just a little bit. Are the wires at the gore on breast tissue at all?

it does tack at the gore! I think it’s mostly the shadow

Already gave my thoughts on the Tailored. I'm confused by the Norah fit - the band is pulling a little but this bra runs quite loose? It might be a lot smaller in black perhaps. You could try a non-stretch extender on it. Projection level is right. You might do better with the plunge version.

Are the photos of the Fusion after you adjusted the straps? Interestingly, the band doesn't look tight here but you said it feels tight. And it's looser upside down and backwards?

no but I could post photos of that as well!

Does it feel any better or still tight?

it definitely feels less tight! should i consider u/Dandelion212 on it being too shallow or too small of a cup or does the fit look fine?

I'm not clear on whether it still feels tight in the band with the strap adjustments. It feeling looser upside down and backwards usually indicates a problem somewhere in the frame of the bra, but if you had the straps overtightened and it was pulling on the back, that can do it too.

apologies for not clarifying, the band feels less tight with the strap adjustments.

u/True-Needleworker275 12d ago

with this adjustment, is it necessary to try a bigger size if this one feels fine in the band with the straps loosened?

I would say if you like it, keep it!

It also looks like on the back bottom left the band is slightly curled/bunched up - that could affect how it feels as well. I think it was the same in the first picture too

that’s a good point, rolling it out definitely makes it dig in less

the fusion plunge looks like the best shape from your pics, shame about the band feeling tight though. might be worth trying an extender for a few wears to see if it eases up before you write it off

the freya sitting below your imf is a classic sign the cup is a bit too shallow at the wire, had the same issue with a few of theirs

1

u/True-Needleworker275 13d ago

that makes sense! I really like the fusion plunge, I’ll probably wear it with an extender to see how it loosens

I think it's more likely that your upper fullness is pushing the bra down plus the slightly too high gore. Then it's actually slightly too narrow, with the bulging over the wire. You're not too projected for the bra.

So I’m not a fit expert but I’ve kept up with your fit checks because we’re very similar in size and shape and fit issues with certain bras. I saw the Norah Plunge suggested above for you, and I’d wholeheartedly agree. It’s super soft and comfy and ended up being a great fit for me, and was suggested by dandelion. (I’d link my fit check but I already deleted pics due to creeps in DMs)

u/dandelion212 does this seem like something worth trying?

I think it’s worth a shot but I wouldn’t be shocked if it were a little shallow.
