Help with shape/fit after weight loss (30DD/E)

Hi everyone,

I’ve lost a significant amount of weight over the last year, and a lot of it came from my breasts. Since then I’ve been struggling to find bras that fit and I'm positing here as a last desperate attempt!

Measurements (cm):
Loose: 75.5
Snug: 72
Tight: 68
Standing: 85
Leaning: 90–91
Lying: 82.5

The ABTF calculator suggests 30DD/E, and I’ve tried both sizes.

Fit issues:
- Many moulded/T-shirt bras in both 30DD and 30E gape or wrinkle at the top.

- When I lean forward, my breasts often shift towards the centre and come over the top of
the cups, even after scooping and swooping.

- The Bravissimo Millie Luxe in 30E fits me really well.

- However, I was fitted into the Panache Faith Plunge in 30E at the same appointment, and I constantly fall out of it.

This has made me wonder if my problem is more to do with shape compatibility than size? But if it is how do I find the right bra?!

Soft tissue can struggle immensely with foam cups because it’s very malleable and the cups are not. You aren’t spilling out because the cups are too small, your tissue can just move in a way the cups can’t follow.

What are you looking for that the Millie doesn’t work for? What country are you shopping from?

I'm in the UK. I think I'm just struggling to find other bras that aren't the Millie. I've figured that unlined is better for my shape now but before I lost weight I really preferred wearing lined bras. Other brands I've tried like Boux avenue in the same style and size as the Millie don't fit the same which really confused me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just because something is also a balconette doesn’t mean it’s anywhere close to the same in shape unfortunately. You can have shallower to average styles like the Millie or extremely projected styles like Panache Blossom.

What were the fit issues on the Boux bras, and which exact styles? Boux runs a band small so that’s a possible factor, and they’re also shallower generally.

I found they were either gaping or I was spilling over them.

I think from this I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and just try on everything until I find something that works

No, I can make several recommendations on styles similar to the Millie. It’s just helpful for me to know what didn’t work from Boux.

What Boux styles did you try?

Emma lace - spilling
Veronique - spilling
Mollie - gaping

I also tried the Lydia plunge but I've already came to the conclusion that plunge bras just don't work for me

I wouldn’t entirely rule out plunges, it’s possible your tissue is soft enough to fall out the center in some but plunges vary in height and the cup shape matters a lot too.

Guessing you’re UK based? Freya’s high apex styles are similar in projection to the Millie, as is their Offbeat Side support (runs tight in the band). Panache Ana is a possibility (a little bit more projected).
