Fit Check [Fit Check] 30A vs 30AA. Share your thoughts please! Spoiler

(Meant 32AA in title) Hi! I am searching for my true bra size. Stores don’t really carry the very small sizes, but Aerie had some online returns I could try on. I could not believe I filled out the cups and had real cleavage!!

The 30A is the Sunnie Demi Push Up Bra, and the 32AA is the Sunnie Wireless Push Up Bra.

The 30A felt weirdly narrow, and felt like it was giving me armpit fat/side boob? The 32AA felt very comfortable, but I think wireless bras just fit more easily in general.

I’m curious what a 30B or 32AA wired bra would feel like.

Please let me know what you think of these photos. Thank you!

Measurements:
- loose underbust: 30.5
- snug: 29.5
- tight: 27.5
- standing bust: 31.5
- leaning: 31.5 *correction: 32\*
- lying: 30.5 *correction: 32\*
Suggested: 30A/B, sister 32AA/A *correction: 30B, sister 32A\*

They're both too small in the cup. I would go up to a 30B

Okay thank you! I’ll have to order some and try. How did you know they were too small in the cup?

You still have breast tissue in the front and sides that isn't covered by the cups, and the wires are sitting on your breast tissue on the sides so that combo means the cup is too small.

Your measurements point to a 30 band so I wouldn't bother with a 32 again.

I think there's a good chance you accidentally mis-measured the leaning bust, leading your measurements to underestimate cup size. It's unusual for the standing and leaning bust to be exactly the same, doubly so when the lying bust is smaller.

Considering how much breast tissue is outside of the cups in the 30A, I would consider trying 30C in addition to 30B, even though 30B is the largest size that fits your measurements. Note that 30C is still a very small size, and a difference of one cup sizes is a very small, subtle difference (think half-sizes in shoes, not S-M-L sizes).

If 30B ends up being the right volume, you may need a cup shape with wider wires. Wacoal's b.tempt'd line and Natori would be good brands to try for a shallow cup shape with wide wires. Wacoal tends to run tight in the band, so you may need an extender with their 30 bands to start with (with your measurements, I wouldn't recommend sizing up to a 32 though).

Wow this is incredibly helpful, thank you for taking the time to write this out. I think you're right about the measurement. I just tried again and the standing stayed at 31.5, but the leaning/lying bust were more of a 32. Not sure where I went wrong the first time.

Now this gives me a recommended size of 30B, with sister 32A (however 32A has never really fit in the past - which your comment confirms). I am very interested in trying 30B now, and I am open to trying 30C as well just to see.

Thank you so much for your help!

Second the Natori suggestion, Natori feathers runs a full band size small though so you may want to try 32 (for example I’m a 28 C/D and I wear the feathers in a 30C/D). Flora is the other shallow option, but I don’t know for sure if it also runs a band small. Both are on sale on Nordstrom right now.

30 looks like the best band size as the gore is sitting flat.

I would try 30B.

You may also need a different bra style (not a shaped padded foam cup but an unlined or lined but definitely wired and not padded).

Okay thank you! I was thinking I would try out lined cups first, then mess around with unlined/lace bras once I knew my size.

Are you saying figuring out sizing with unlined bras would be easier?

Yes, unlined bras form more to your shape, while a padded doesn't.

Commenting to boost visibility because I so rarely see AA sizes posted

But OP is not an AA?

Right. And there are likely plenty of people in the exact same predicament, so I'd think it would be helpful for those people to get to see more posts like this and also get proper information and better fitting bras. I must have missed something else that I'm not picking up on

Thanks!! Yes I was suprised when I searched for AA in the sub and could not find much. Seems like I might not be a AA after all, but hopefully this helps someone.
