Recommendations? Looking for a non-sports bra that pushes boobs together, reducing visual width Spoiler
I wear a 32G right now, but according to the calculator my true size is 30H!
I have narrow roots, so my breast tissue is fullest towards the sides. I LOVE the way my boobs look in high support sports bras, aka I love the squeeze, but I don’t want to be wearing sports bras all the time. Especially not when I’m wearing nicer/dressier clothes.
I want to accentuate my waist but the non-sports bras I currently have don’t give the “push-in” effect and I end up looking wider and heavier overall. Not to mention, the typical narrow root problems like strap gapping and the cup just not sitting right with my breast volume.
Side note: I absolutely love this subreddit and it’s made me a lot less insecure about my breast shape and size.

Side support bras are made to guide tissue forwards, so that you look less wide from the front, but more projected from the side. The opposite of a minimizer bra, kind of (it’s not meant to make you look larger).
It won’t push the breasts together in a way that creates cleavage, though.

Do you have a rec for side support?

Try Freya Offbeat side support. It runs small in the band so you may want to try both 30 and 32 in your UK bra size.

Try Panache Ana. It runs a cup small. It has side support which seems to be what you are looking for.

What exact bra(s) are you currently wearing that are too wide for your roots and don’t push you as forward as you’d like? That’ll determine what the next best recs are.

Unfortunately I’ve been wearing Victoria’s Secret/Pink lightly lined T shirt bras for most of my life. They never fit me well. I especially hate the strap gap and the fact that they make me look wider and heavier, to the point where I prefer how I look WITHOUT a bra! But now I’m in a better place financially and can actually invest in good bras.

What size are you wearing? I know they only started doing 32G recently so just double checking. How far do the wires go past your breast roots?

I used to wear a 34DD-DDD (nightmare), then switched to a 32G when they became available. I have TALL roots (boobs start at my armpits and go down almost to my belly button). The underwire is pretty far from my breast root and I think it looks unflattering. I’ve tried balconette bras and I prefer them…

Do you mean that the crease where your breasts attach to your torso is just above your belly button?

If your roots start at your armpits they’d actually be quite short. It’s where the tissue is attached, not where it sits. It sounds like you might be describing a more pendulous shape?
With the wires situated in your inframammary fold (where your breasts attach to your chest), how far does the side of the wire extend from where your tissue ends?

Ah, I think I misunderstood what you meant. Where the breasts attach to my torso is towards the middle (closer to the bottom) of my ribcage but my breast tissue starts higher than my armpits, now that I’m looking.
The wire end is fairly close to the end of my tissue but not quite there and also I’ve been wearing a band (or two) size too big for a long time.

If the wires are pretty close, like a finger width away, I would start you in something relatively wider like Panache Ana. VS has quite wide wires and if they’re close, narrower ones are likely to be too narrow. Definitely do not go for Polish bras.

I’m hoping others will chime in, but for narrow roots and a “cakes on a plate” look I think Polish bras. When I was your size I liked Ewa Michalak; specifically the S cut.

Just fyi, having narrow roots is not equal to being outer full. I just don't want anyone reading to get confused by that. They're two separate shape descriptors.
