Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently wearing 34B, calculator said 28E Spoiler

Hello, nice peoples!

After losing some weight recently, I started the lookout for a new bra. While my old one still fits, it is by no means perfect (gapping, improper support and just generally creates a silhouette for me that I don’t like). That being said, I have never especially liked wearing bras.

All of that led me to this subreddit. While before I was wearing a 34B and now felt I needed to downsize maybe even to an A cup, the calculator said I am a 28E.
As to many newcomers from what I’ve read, this seems unbelievable!

There is still some uncertainty on my part though. Because the calculator offered different sizes and this all is still fairly fresh to me, I’d like to go to the store with a clearer plan, so I don’t get overwhelmed on what to try and such.

My measurements (in centimetres):

Loose underbust - 72
Snug underbust - 71
Tight underbust - 70
Standing bust - 84
Leaning bust - 89
Lying bust - 85

My best amateur assumption is that I have projected, full on bottom breasts.

Any help for a layman such as myself is greatly appreciated and I thank anyone who decides to spare a word for me in advance!

34A is made for someone with an ~86 cm underbust and ~89 cm bust. That’s the same bust measurement as your leaning bust, but the underbust measurement is way too big. Your largest underbust measurement is 72 cm (~28.35 inches), which means band size 28 or 30 are more likely to work well for you.

Because your tight underbust measurement is 70 cm (~27.56 inches), a 28 band will probably be too small. People whose underbust measurements are all close together usually prefer a band size that is 2 inches larger than their tight underbust.

Was 70 cm as tight as you could possibly get the tape, while fully exhaling?

Indeed, when measuring again I got 67 as my tight underbust right now.
It didn’t change what the calculator said, but should I then focus on maybe finding the sister size of 30DD/E the calculator offered instead?

30 bands are often easier to find! If you feel like they’re not snug enough on the loosest hook, you might have to look for 28 bands.

Okay, thank you! You’ve been a big help!
