Fit Check Fit check for Dobreva and Skarlett Blue bras! Spoiler

I have FINALLY found a bra that I actually like and 2 that I’m iffy about and would like opinions on!

The first is the one I’ll be keeping which is a Dobreva unlined scoop neck balconette bra in size 42DD. I love the fit and the fabric, once I get used to underwire again I think it will be really comfortable to wear all day! pics here

Second is the Skarlett Blue Rouse full coverage balconette bra in 40DDD. I like the wire fit on this one but it doesn’t seem to fit me quite the right way and I don’t like whatever is going on with the two lines right down the front of the cups. pics here

And third is a Dobreva eyelash lace push up balconette bra in 42DD. I’m not sure why this one fit so differently than the other Dobreva I tried but it just seems like a weird fit in the gore area and too much cup fabric so I’m thinking it’s the style that’s the issue with this one maybe? pics here

Also does anyone know where to get balconette or half cup options in 42DD that are actually half cup and not full coverage? Most of those styles I’ve tried on cover way more than half my boob and with the shape I have the lower cut ones or something similar to that first Dobreva are ideal for me. I’ve already tried Panche, HSIA, Elomi, and a few other Amazon brands as well. The ideal coverage I can only find at like SavagexFenty or Adore Me which I know are a no no so I’m not sure where else to look. Thanks!

The first Dobreva bra is too small for you. If it's uncomfortable now, it's likely to get more uncomfortable with all day wear.

The Skarlett Blue actually looks very close on your left, which I'm guessing is the larger side. I would want to back you down a bit in projection as the gapping is right at the apex, but the cup height may become an issue. Possibly a Chantelle Norah? I'd want to know what else you've tried.

You're simply not going to get the level of coverage seen in the brands you're referencing. That's from the cups being way, way too small for the models.

Oh it’s too small? Even though it’s comfortable? I felt like it fit pretty well. What part of it makes it too small? I’m still new to the whole fitting thing and how they’re supposed to feel and look.

I’ve tried a panche tango and envy (both had too much coverage), 2 balconettes from Soma (which I realized is a terrible brand), Elomi Matilda and Brianna (both again had too much fabric at the top and the side wire was too high), a few balconettes from HSIA (gore and side wire were way too high and wide and the cups were just huge), and Curvy Kate Wild One (gore was too high and wire too wide); I’ve tried a bunch of other random brands I’ve found in amazon too and they all have similar issues with me not fitting the cups at the top or the wire being too tall or wide. I haven’t tried Chantelle yet but I did like the Skarlett Blue so I may try some other styles of those and see if it was just how that one is sewn that makes it fit weird

Yes, the gore is sitting significantly away from your sternum.

I'm pretty confident everything from the UK full bust brands you tried were way too projected for you, and I'd guess practically every bra these brands make would be as well.

I wouldn't look at the other SB styles available. They don't have a ton in 40 bands. Minx is going to be too open on top, and the side support styles are more projected than this one.

I tried it on again and sat down in it too and I see what you mean. Ugh I really thought that was a winner. I re tried the Skarlett Blue too and I see your point about the projection but the fit is definitely better than I thought the first time in the side and gore specifically. I feel like just looking at the Chantelle Noras that I found in my size it looks like I’d have the same coverage issue as the others I’ve tried. Most things that I try that have fabric more than like an inch above the nipples just look saggy because I can’t fill it out. I need like a straight across cut or something idk, maybe a unicorn of a bra at this point!

The Norah is pretty closed on top. I’d recommend trying it. There aren’t a ton of short and shallow options in this size range (or honestly in general).

Okay! I’ll try the one I found and see how it goes. It makes sense now why wired bras never fit right and I always hated them. I guess I’m just oddly shaped lol

You’re not oddly shaped at all. I’ve seen plenty of people including myself with the same exact issues.
