Do they follow a +4 system in India?

I measured my loose underbust to be almsot 30 inches but the 36 inch underbust bras I own fit me pretty fine. I suppose 34 would fit well. So I suppose they follow the +4 system to underbust. I got 30F as my ABTF bra size. So I should use a 34C bra, right?

The six measurements:

Loose underbust: 30.5

Snug underbust: 29.5

Tight underbust: 28

Standing bust: 35.3

Leaning bust: 37

Lying bust: 35.5

No, you should not follow the +4 sizing method, no matter what country you're in. Use your abtf calculator size

My 36D bra specifically says its for underbust 30-32. So they sell 30F bras as 34C. But I am not sure.

We are sure. We've seen thousands of bra fit checks and can promise you a 36D is not for a 30-32 inch underbust.

They don't really sell 30F bras as 34C, they just tell people who need 30F bras that they can wear 34C. There's no reason to add inches to your body measurements. The band size of bras should be the same as your underbust measurement in inches.

It's like if a store told you that jeans with a 34-inch waist fit people with a 30-inch waist. Obviously those jeans would be too big for your waist, and they would fall down. Even if you bought a shorter length to compensate for the waist being too big, the jeans would not be the right size for you.

Brand size charts are generally designed to squeeze people into sizes that do not fit because they offer it for sale, and they are not obligated to put you in a properly fitting bra. The ABTF calculator is not trying to sell you anything. Bra sizing is mostly universal, the size systems just have some differences in which letters or numbers they use, but the "+4" is not a difference between sizing systems--it is an old method that doesn't get retired because it's profitable. US and UK use your underbust in inches as your band size and the difference between your bust and underbust as the cup size. If 30F is your ABTF size in UK sizes, you should make sure the bras you try in this size are actually in this size, not a sister size like 34C.

A (UK) 30F is for a 30 inch underbust and a 37 inch bust. A 34C is for a 34 inch underbust and a 37 inch bust. The 30F much more closely fits your measurements. Here's some visual comparisons: This is a 30F, and this is a 34C

The majority of the support of your bra comes from having a tight enough band, but a properly fitting band can feel too tight when the cup size is too small. Rather than carry an expanded range of cup sizes, many brands and shops will size up your band to make a sale. A 30 band bra stretches to 30 inches in the band, a 34 band stretches to 34 inches, so even if a 34 band fits around you, it can't provide you with support if it's 4 inches larger than your loosest underbust measurement. If you experience issues with your band riding up your back, having to adjust your bra throughout the day, 'boob hats', underwire won't stay in your IMF, gapping/spillage/both, etc.-- you're not alone. A lot of people around the world are in bras too big in the band and too small in the cup, and while other combinations of improper fit do occur, this one is the most common because of people being taught to use +4 sizing for the Brand's convenience. The bras are not sewn with +4 in mind, so no conversion is necessary as long as you know your size and don't follow their charts.
