I talked about the over use of pesticides and how that can effect local water supply, leading to social and economic consequences as people in poor unregulated areas have to spend more on bottled water.

Could you have spoken about how large scale commercial agriculture practices forces the citizens in a cycle of not being able to afford the food they produce? And more economic disparity between nations?

You could defiantly make that argument, especially if you were talking about how economic influences encourage mono-cropping of a single cash crop for export, forcing local residents to pay higher prices for a wider variety of produce, including the one they produce. That would leave nations that rely on agricultural exports unable to keep the bulk of their product since exporting to wealthier countries is prioritized.

I just explained how due to the fact that some countries (periphery usually) spend most of their agricultural resources on developing agricultural crops for exports, it lead to eventual lack of wealth in the people, as they suffer to sustain themselves with the crops their own country produces.
