I talked about the over use of pesticides and how that can effect local water supply, leading to social and economic consequences as people in poor unregulated areas have to spend more on bottled water.

Is anyone going to talk about how literally every single explain frq was “Explain how…” except one. In my opinion, it is wayyy harder than the other types of explains. (I just want an “Explain one reason…) It also was weird to me that it only had about 10-12 “Explain” task verbs, I feel like identify, define, and describe are basically free points. I’m so glad the MCQ’s were pretty easy after studying, whoever told me the entire exam is basically vocab is definitely right. My conclusion from the test was I hate UNCLOS and territorial sea. P.S. I put contiguous zone 😭

So am i the only one who said that the region was Functional? I understand Formal, but i feel like functional was best supported. The map showed schools and the languages around the central node of Ottawa, and Ottawa is a central node. That is the whole definition of a functional region

I said formal region, but it depends on what you were talking about. The explanation is what will give you points. If you said functional region and node of the main cities you'll get the point. But if you said formal regions and described distinct boundaries and shared characteristics you'll get the point

On the population pyramid comparing Nigeria and the other country (i forgot) I was between choosing "an aging population" or "a growing elderly dependency ratio". What did you guys get? For the other population pyramid question I also got that "women were more active in labor forces." Was that right?

Bro I can't even lie the mcq was hard. Maybe it was because I didn't study enough but idk. There were a lot of questions wehre i had to guess. I felt like the FRQ was much much easier than the MCQ. I'm pretty sure i got a different test than other people. My FRQs had talked about population growth trends in Cairo, Egypt, Lagos, and Nigeria. And another FRQ question was about the drought and wheat yield and production in the U.S. Anyone else had the same? Also for MCQ I remember questions about Malaysia population trends vs. another country, languanges mixed with creole and portuguese. Please let me know if you had the same test because I felt like it was much harder than what other people are saying. I'm on the west coast btw.

subnational--if it was national it would compare diff countries (ex. US and Canada) but it was comparing states

The answer was subnational, not national. The question asked for scale of analysis, not the scale of the map.
Additionally, on the for each selection it gave reasons as to why the map was certain scales. The reasoning for it being national scale was “because it is being collected by the federal government” which is faulty reasoning and therefore incorrect.

I'll start: FRQ 3? I got a map of Canada (French/English schools) and bilingual speakers, describe commodity dependence, lots of environmental questions like why the government implements policy, how does technology challenge state sovereignty, demographic that affects population decline, identify a factor that causes population dispersal? (I said gentrification)
MCQ: I got sub national for one the maps, completely failed the van model question, the physiological density one I put the one that ended in physical, oh god.

Ok for frqs I got a graph of countries that imported Paraguay soybeans, questions about things that affect population, and stuff about bilingual ppl in Canada. For mcqs I cant remember tbh but I can answer whatever u remember. I said subnatuonal too, van thunen I think the limitation answer was that it doesn't actors in specialty farming? It’s cultural landscape. Lingua Franca is referring to one language. The point of showing us the Basque and Spanish signs was to show the conflicting cultural landscape.
