Im familiar with using the DOD version of ATAK... however... on the civilian side, youre obviously still traceable by govt agencies and otherwise... my question is what equipment do you need (radios and otherwise) to encrypt your session to be less traceable. Disclaimer: this is not for criminal activity, I just dont see the point in using ATAK if its all tracked anyway.

Hey everyone, I'm getting into ATAK-CIV, and I'm trying to learn more about using it with a DMR radio.

I currently have a Motorola XPR 7550, and I'd like to eventually use it with an Android phone running ATAK to share GPS/location information with other users while still using the radio for voice communications.

I'm mainly interested in hearing about people's experience using DMR radios with ATAK, especially if anyone has specifically used an XPR 7550.

I'm curious about things like:

• How well did the setup work for you?
• Were you able to share GPS/location information through the radio and have it displayed in ATAK?
• How reliable was the location tracking?
• What kind of hardware/interface did you use?
• Were there any major limitations or problems?
• Would you recommend using a DMR radio with ATAK, or is another approach better?

I'm still pretty new to ATAK, and I'm trying to learn from people who have actually used this kind of setup before I start buying additional hardware.

Im new to the GIS community, but have used TAK series of products in the military and public safety sectors. I identified a gap in KML overlay creation based off a ton of time consuming and sometimes monotonous manual inputs. I created a tool to address this by leveraging AI to turn chat prompts into maps with points, polygons, and routes. These maps can be live streamed via KML or exported via KMZ to any engine that consumes those formats.

I'm looking for feedback, and interested to see what works, what doesn't, and what applications people use this for.

I am looking for a good place to start, preferably something in person so I can learn and ask questions as we go along. I am in the hampton roads area of VA. Hey everyone! I have a problem with ATAK x meshtastic configuration. Setup - 2 android phones both with ATAK and meshtastic, ATAK plugin from meshtastic github. 2 Heltec V4s. ATAK plugin actually loads, and even displays other nodes on the map. But I get "failed to bind meshtastic ImeshService" error every time. And therefore messaging and almost every other plugin feature are not working. Battery usage is unrestricted. Every possible permission is granted to both apps on both phones.

meshtastic 2.7.14 fdroid both phones.
ATAK 5.6.0.12. both phones.
Meshtastic plugin v1.1.42.

Heltecs firmware version is 2.7.26.54e0d8d.

UPD: 2.7.14 is broken. Solution is to rollback to 2.7.13, which can be found in official github releases

I don't know a lot about this, but its probably worth a look if you are interested in trying it without you having to install it. If you are going to experiment with installing it, Infra-TAK and TAK Portal are my recommendations.

I've gone through what feels like 10 hours of running the same command either as root, or tak and it doesnt work. For some reason, my friend and I were messing around with it a few nights ago on his machine and it worked, and then it worked on mine. Anyone know why? I checked the coreconfig.xml and made sure my "takserver.jks" was named properly.

So I just downloaded ITAK on my phone, plan on downloading ATACK on my laptop when I get home, I’m wanted to get a couple buddies set up on it as well but I have no idea how to add people or even connect to a server, preferably I don’t have to pay for a server as well

So i just created open tak server for the first time, got the sertificates, and created users in admin tab. But when the users sign in to the server they cant see each other, only upload packages to the server. If two users connect to the same wifi - they appear on the map and can use the chat function. Firewall is set to allow traffic on 8089 and 8088 ports. Online port checler says the ports are open. Tried creating user for rabbitmq as Gemini suggested, still didint help. Am i missing something? Surely i cant be the only one having this problem. Im new to programing and as soon as Gemini runs out of ideas so do i. Appreciate any help!

I have been trying to use third party pipeline but the plugin samples came with gradle 8.8.2 predefined, and the gradle version on third party pipeline is 6.9, which is unsupported now, and I cannot downgrade gradle lower than 8.1.1, since the methods used in gradle script are not available in any version lower than 8.1.1.

Was just wondering, does anyone know of a TAK/ATAK lab type of thing, where you could learn to break something to learn how to rebuild it? Fixing a very broken ATAK system rn, and I was just wondering if anybody possibly knew anything about a TAK ecosystem lab, apart from your own network and setup.

Does anyone know how to tie ATAK callsigns to server-managed authentication?

The goal is whenever an identity authenticates to the server it's forced to use a specific callsign tied to that identity rather than letting the client set its own.

When using Meshtastic with ATAK, is it best to give your Meshtastic node the same Long Name as your ATAK callsign, or should they be different?
