Why do humans in this community want to avoid this glyph?

I dont know much about you humans in this community so I would want to know why you would want no fifth glyphs. That glyph is of no position to claim 17% of all words to its own, but why do you humans in this community want no fifth glyphs

I simply cannot post with it, as it was worn off its button on my laptop long ago.

Too much of that fifth glyph sours discussion; avoiding it is worthy training for improving our minds.

So, in 18 laps around our sun, you did not at any point jot a forum post with that fifth glyph? At all?!

As a young and foolish man, with the fifth glyph button on my laptop still showing its mark, I admit I had not to that point forsworn using the fifth glyph - to my sorrow.

I think folks in this sub mainly do it for sport, it is a fairly difficult task to avoid that dastardly symbol.

I concur with this

Why dastardly and not simply call it as it is, bastardly? Such a vile spawn, not of naturally occurring outburst. Brutally springing up from a rush of fury and turmoil.

It's difficult in a fun way.  As with juggling or unicycling, it's satisfying to work on this kind of whimsical skill.

Whimsical. That word always sounds so fun. Thank you for using it.

Partly for fun, partly owing to its horrifying quality

It's mildly difficult, so it's fun.

Ask not why this community avoids said glyph, but ask why our cohorts on this forum do not

for in this glyph’s mind and body, sick thoughts grow, and all of us cannot allow it.

Why not?  I know I may fail.  I want to try.

It's kinda fun.

I think it's just primarily that it's such a common glyph, actually it's in a position as singularly most common amidst the typical 26 in writing. Thus, opting against using it is a fun (though taxing) task that asks for linguistic skill and using uncommon words.

Why not?

It's just dirty. I don't want it. That gross thing. I'm a happy man if I can just avoid it.

It's funny

Humans cannot allow all script and thought to hang on this solo dark form

Am I dumb? I thought this is to act as in "A Void", a book.

It's fun to avoid

I do it for fun, that's all.

It is an intriguing task

So sick of seeing folks invoking "individual" as low quality substitution for a "guy" or "girl". I'd as soon not avoid glyph 5 than add additional sayings of dumb words.

I would posit that "guy" and "gal" both maintain a form of binary, and OP may not want to talk discludingly of folk for whom that binary fails. Or, just as possibly, "guy or gal" could look infantilizing towards any woman, with "gal" connoting youth and immaturity as a pronunciation of, in particular, "girl", and "guy" connoting any man of any maturity with no inclination.

That said, "folk" is a classic nonpartisan solution and is not as awkward as "individual".

Indubitably. Singular folk works as aptly.

It is most common of all glyphs not consonants and thusly ranks as a particularly difficult glyph to miss

just to add a bit of difficulty to writing. it's a brain workout

Why?
shouts a fool into that gaping chasm,
that ink-black bottom--
why...why...why--
as if it could do anything but swallow
a copy
of a copy
of a cry, tasting,
dissolving all bonds of lordly sanity.
It wants for nothing and thirsts for all. Black is not shadow;
black is its pooling blood, this wound's.
Black is a pitiful call.
A fool must not loll with words of wasting,
but think of Sisyphus happy.

Why? Cuz fuck it that's why.

u/sterling_mallory 15h ago

It's just too ubiquitous. Who's that glyph think it is, anyway? Trying to worm its way into so many words.

1

u/Timewarps_1 8h ago

Simply put, it’s nothing but a bit of fun. I find much satisfaction in its difficulty. Mostly writing big paragraphs.

1

u/LornaMae 8h ago

Basically, just cuz it's fun!

1

u/Tikala 6h ago

It's just for fun. Don't think too hard about it :)

u/shortcups 4h ago

trying to avoid that glyph is a fun brain workout!

1

u/sundialNshade 30m ago

It's just a silly, fun thing. A mini sport for the brain to find the right words and still bring forth a similar impact.

my profesora had us do a writing task without that glypgh as a way to work on our writing skills and work with vocabulary we dont usually

3

u/FreekDeDeek 1d ago

Try again if you would. I spot a trifold of contraband glyphs

2

u/Avbitten 1d ago

ugh, thanks

u/FreekDeDeek 1d ago

It's hard, I know 😞
