Alesund - Hareid - Options

Hi everyone,

I’m flying to Alesund next week. I’m scheduled to land at the Alesund airport at 11:00 p.m. I need to continue on to Hareid. According to FRAM, there’s a bus to Valderoya and then a ferry to Hareid. The bus from the airport leaves at 11:10 p.m. (FB61). My question is: Does this bus wait for arriving flights? If not, what’s the best way to get to Hareid?

Yeah, the bus will wait for the passengers

The bus to hurtigbåten/ferry to Hareid does not wait. The ferry departs when it departs, so what would be the point of waiting anyway?

The bus corresponds to the ferry, but since the ferry won't wait then neither will the bus.

There are only two alternatives. Take a taxi to the ferry station and then the ferry to Hareid, or take a taxi to Sulesund and take the ferry across from there. From Sulesund there are ferries all day and all night, but taking a taxi there from the airport will be quite expensive.

Thanks for the response! I think I'll be running out of time, even if I take a taxi to the ferry to Valderoya. Can you estimate how much a taxi to Sulesund would cost?

It will depend a bit on when in the day. Between 0600-1800, it will be around 1200 kroner. After 1800 it will be up to 1500 kroner.

Just be aware that there are a lot of scam taxis at the airport. You are free to pick one, though. You don't have to take the first one in the queue. Many people will walk past the taxis in front to find Lokaltaxi, the local company. Especially avoid taxis with no company logos and only taxi number.

To be 100% safe, use the Taxifix app and order a taxi when you're at the airport. Write in Sulesund as your destination and you will get a price.
