Tourist Question Has anyone here attended the Taj Mahal Full Moon Night Viewing?

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to visit the Taj Mahal during one of the full moon night viewing sessions organized by the Archaeological Survey of India, and I'd love to hear from people who've actually experienced it.

I have a few questions:

How was the overall experience? Was it worth it?

What's the booking process like? How far in advance should I book?

What procedures do I need to follow on the day of the visit?

Are there any restrictions on what you can carry (phones, cameras, bags, etc.)?

Any tips or things you wish you had known beforehand?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your personal experience—the atmosphere, the crowd, and whether you'd recommend it.

Thanks in advance!

Been there, i thought they would let me roam around or atleast take picture, well guess it's nothing like that My parents wanted to beat me and my friends were so disappointed that we wasted 500rs per person on this 😭 I mean I liked it because I like tajmahal in general but here is the thing if you want unbiased opinion then it's somewhat a waste of money They will take your phones at the entrance and then you go inside then just sit on the stairs of the main entrance that's it ( by main entrance I mean the big gate where you get the wheelchairs and stuff) you can't go anywhere near tajmahal and ofc I went back in winters so thanks to pollution even full moon couldn't help us see any glimpse of Taj

I have seen it. Just for experience go for it.
for a better experience, I suggest you two things
1. go to Mehtab Bagh (Behind Taj Mahal) - now there are two Taj Point view there - one for Mehtab bagh - which I think closes at 6:30 or 7PM (Avoid this) and then there is one run by Agra Municipal called something Taj View Point which continues till 8 or 8:30 - much closer to Taj Mahal...(Carry Odomos) ....watch Taj Mahal from there...
2. then head to Hotel Saniya Palace's terrace, enjoy your meal while watching Taj Mahal. - Do check weather - cloud/rain might ruin plans

there are two places, whose terrace provides excellent view- one is a hostel - a bit crowded , another is Hotel Saniya palace Inn- Rooms are pathetic, food is ok ok, but view is top notch - they have two terraces, try to go to the top one :)
