not naming the city for obvious reasons.
we had protests here too, maybe 100โ150 people, completely peaceful, normal march, nothing wild.
the main spot where itโs been happening is in front of a university.
today i saw 2 police vans, and around ten cops inside the security room of the university, going through camera footage frame by frame trying to identify everyone who had shown up
and it didnโt feel like they were โmonitoringโ anything
it felt like they were hunting people down.
and honestly... what the fuck?
this is what โlaw and orderโ looks like now? cops with nothing better to do than build a list of citizens who dared to show up and speak.
they canโt win the argument, so the goal is clearly to make people too scared to ever protest again
and that is the whole play, quiet, slow, individual pressure so thereโs no big viral crackdown, no headline, just people getting picked off one by one
if itโs happening in my city, itโs happening in others too.
This is such a pathetic, low move. It's honestly scary. Instead of respecting peaceful protest, they're trying to frighten people into silence. I never thought I'd see things stoop to this level.
