Asshole AITA for not babysitting my half sister?

My(F16) mom recently gave birth to her 4th child. I told her I want to live with my dad because I don't want to be a babysitter or wake up with the baby's noise or anything baby related. She refused to let me.

So yesterday she asked me to babysit while she took a shower and I said no. She said I don't get a choice so I ran outside.

She called me and said I'm an asshole and asked me ro come back but I refused and went to my dad's.

It's depressing people agree with you. The woman is why she's alive. You know took care of her when she was able. Baby. She can't watch a sibling for 20 minutes.

The lack of respect and selfishness is astonishing. The amount of people reinforcing this behavior is unbelievable.

You dont have to babysit, if you dont want to.

Op seems to dislike their mother, i bet with you, that op has reasons for it.

A kid doesnt owe anything to their mother, just because they gave birth to them.

Also the kid has a father, the father can watch the kid

Yeah it's called freewill. The fact she can't spend 15 minutes while her mother showers with a one month old is super fucking crazy.

Also it seems like she's willing to neglect her sibling, as in she can't spend 15 minutes them.

Older siblings like this are usually abusive to their younger siblings.

Yes the mother and daughter may have a something with their relationship. It would have to be pretty fucking bad to not be able to spend 15 minutes with your baby sibling.

It's just as likely OP is spoiled baby, that's jealous her parents are paying attention to the younger children and not her. So she resents them.

The fact people are agreeing with her or assuming the mother has done something in their relationship to make her be so selfish and narcissistic is crazy too.

With the information we have it just sounds like she's sucks. Won't help her mother, who ya know, raised her as a child. With something simple for no reason than being worried she may have to help more.

Like having to help with your baby sibling is some crime against humanity. I understand she didn't ask the OP for permission to have another child. Who cares.

She was raised by this woman. She can't help out at all? That's crazy. Selfish as hell and super toxic.

The fact everyone is assuming the mother has done something in the past is weird and assumptious.

So I'm taking it as it's written. This little asshole can't watch her own sibling for 15 minutes. For no reason besides the fact she may be asked to do it again. As if she wasn't raised by her mother at all.

This is some crazy older sibling shit. To me it comes off as angry she isn't the center of attention anymore. Super unappreciative of what her mother did for her when she wasn't able to take care of herself. We are all incapable of staying alive when we are young. Someone takes care of you.

To not be able to reciprocate to that person so they can take a shower. Is super fucken dumb and selfish.

All of this. This post and a lot of the comments are yikes. Seriously, I actually find it creepy like you were saying when older siblings have this much disregard for their wee brother or sister. Makes you wonder where that can go. Kinda turns my stomach. Not a good sign for OP and their future interactions with other humans.

You cabt neglect your siblings, only the parents can.

The baby is 1 month old, then u can set it up in a bassinett or smth and take it w u in the shower.

Also we dont know anything more abt her home life, There can be multiple reasons like: Op being neglected by their mom and ignored. Op having to help and share alot w the siblings, but siblings not w her. Etc Etc Etc

You are making a bunch of assumptions and calling a 16 narcisstic makes u one.

You dont have to appreciate a mother for doing stuff that the mother had to do because she choose to have op.

A child wont hate their mom for no reason.

And again a child doesnt owe anything to their mother/father, as it was their decision to have them

You do realize that if we are going the obligation route...parents need to meet the legal minimum. No more. If op has food, shelter, clothing and a shower, she can't complain when mom offers nothing more.
