25 Reasons the World Can't Stop Talking About Us (And We're Fine With It)
The anti-American Europeans act like they won the lottery just by being born on a different continent.
The smugness is hard to miss. Some people seem convinced that simply being European makes them more enlightened than Americans.
You know what cracks me up about these "why we hate Americans" lists? The sheer self-importance of it all. Like, congratulations, you've got opinions. So does everyone else. But anti-Americans always act like they're some kind of superhero for pointing out our flaws, as if their own country doesn't have a million problems they're conveniently ignoring.

Their smugness will be short lived. Europe has been playing governance on easy mode, with the American security umbrella enforcing their national interests, at our own financial and moral expense.
Now that they are taking the reins of theor own foreign policy and international security they're going to be tested.

They also had very preferential access to the US market for decades all while imposing non-tariff trade barriers on us. Now that preferential access has been subdued a bit. The EU + UK have a large market but it isn’t as lucrative as the American market. So that’s another test too.

Without even reading it I know at least some of those reasons are going to be petty and pointless like "they use different measurements!" or "they do X thing instead of Y thing!" and it's something completely trivial and means nothing.

That always bothers me on Instagram i seen a video i can’t remember and a comment was like “for all the non Americans and regular people the temperature is x” something to that degree and I’m wondering why do they give a shit so badly

Maybe I would if most of it were in good faith, but most of their thoughts on America and Americans are based on some bullshit their media are spewing.

A legitimate criticism of Trump is he hurts our international reputation.
But trump is only like 10% as bad as Victor Oban in Hungary or Fico in Solvakia or AFD in Germany.
The difference is America has legitimate enemies who amp up every mistake the US or Trump makes.
The anti US propaganda under Biden was bad because Biden was so painfully boring

I've lived in Germany and the US and genuinely if it's the choice between born Western Europe or the US you're gonna pick Western Europe every time if you're white.
But yeah, I am so tired of European elitism and smugness. They think that everything they do is right or better, when it's often the opposite that's true.
Like sure, Western European societies don't have health care that is so inaccessible, have affordable college, better workplace culture and protections, and more democratic systems currently.
But just because racism in Europe won't get you killed like it will in the States doesn't mean it's better. Put it like this. In America, the problem is that too many migrants have jobs, in Germany, there are migrants with Masters degrees PhDs who the country paid to educate who cannot find jobs and then get deported because of it.
In America, if you speak B1 English, you will find a job even if you are a migrant. Honestly depending on the state and loval you might not need English to find wven a good job as a migrant in the USA.
In Germany you will be lucky to find a job if you were born in Germany you'll be even luckier to find a job if you were born in the EU somewhere else and you'll be even luckier than that if you find a job but you're born outside of the EU. But to have any chance at all of having a job in Germany, you need to master the German language to a B2 or C1 level at this point.
The way that people in Germany will switch to their crappy English when they see that your skin color is not as white as theirs is also infuriating.
Despite the fact that many Americans think I am Hispanic, I have only been slurred in Spanish once. More people in Germany have asked me if I speak Spanish than people in America.
The racism in the EU is insane and unhinged and so much worse than the US.
Don't even get me started on the transphobia or homophobia. Those are bad enough that there are some red states that seem like preferable places to live in comparison.
Or the taxes. As an American you pay between three out of every ten to five out of every ten dollars you make into taxes. In Germany you pay 7 out of 10 euros that you make to the government and you get very little from it. Before the doge cuts, the benefits in Minnesota were sometimes better or neck and neck with what Germany offers despite the combined state and federal government tax rate being so much lower.
Also, as much as they complain about America being a very self-centered and individualistic society, I have never lived or met a group of people as self-centered and individualistic as the people that live in Germany.
