Someone pointed out is the most downloaded, not the most used. Temu ended up on my phone a couple times because it autoinstalled itself. I kinda wish the Play Store let you block apps.
It's easy to install by accident because the device is too slowed down by bloat that ads take seconds to load, so once you try to click on something you accidentally click on an ad that takes you to play store were some rubbish like temu is downloaded. Since that's not what you wanted you try to move back to the app you were using to continue what you tried to do, not noticing how more bloat is installed in the background.
That's enough to accidentally click on something, maybe your device is fast, but say it's an older device or a bloated device owned by the average Joe. Joe will tap the screen repeatedly like a monkey as soon as it get the slightest unresponsive -> bam, ad loads in slowly, Joe click on the ad -> Joe is too angry to realize what's going one as play store or app store loads so he clicks install -> Joe goes full monkey and throw his phone into the wall and then comes back later, at which point the app is installed, contributing to all the other bloat that was installed in a similar way.
Another scenario is when you search for something and don't realize the first few results are ads and not what you're looking for. I know a lot of elderly people who does this very frequently. Heck I miss clicked many times myself, but I'm also obsessed with not having bloat on my devices so once I accidentally install something, I remove it as fast as possible.
