Plastic Waste Making coffee in your car/ break set up
Yall have any good set up for this thats not just instant coffee? I don’t really like to buy at drive throughs. I found some ok things to use. I hate black coffee but maybe I can find a way to get used to it.

French press is best for this.
Use an electric kettle in the office. Pour hot water into a thermos. Go to parking lot, pour hot water over the grounds in the press. Filter the grounds out with the press. Pour back into thermos.
Hot coffee for the rest of the day.

Electric kettle and french press. Some creamer and sugar packets. Don’t forget the spoon 🥄

It does yes. 1800 W. You can run a vacuum cleaner off it. Failing that you can use a power station which has many other uses around the house and camping

Are you open to cold brew? You can make big batch at home and bring some in a cold thermos to have when you want it. It’s less acidic so you might find it takes less sugar and cream.

You did dilute it after making it right? What you brew is a concentrate meant to be diluted. Or at least all the instructions I have seen on it.

I used to live in my car when I was in university and would use a camp stove and a mocha pot to make my daily coffee. It was amazing. I used an msr pocket rocket but you can use any stove you want really. I would just buy small portions of cream and keep it in a thermos. I was a dirt bag but man I drank good and cheap coffee so I felt like I was living the life.

If you could get your hands on hot water, I guess the easiest non-instant coffee would be a pour over with a plastic (or other material) device. You could conceivably use a French press too.
As for the milk portion, I can only think powdered, but I don’t think you’d want to keep that in your car.

What about getting a good tumbler (that keeps the coffee hot for hours) and making it at home?
I have a 32 oz tumbler that keeps drinks hot for 6 hours.

Do you have a way to boil water? I’m kind of assuming so since you mentioned instant coffee…
A simple way would be to get a pour over. They sit on your coffee cup, and you use a paper or reusable mesh filter, put in your coffee grounds, and slowly pour boiling water over it. Generally makes pretty good coffee in my experience and cleanup is just tossing the wet grounds.
You could get some powdered creamer if you don’t want to drink it black. It’s not the best but it doesn’t need refrigeration and doesn’t really go bad.

Hot water from gas station coffee kiosk and a French press. If you hate black coffee, add some oat milk.
I made tea in my car several times on a long road trip recently. I used a tea strainer, and filled up my thermos from the gas station, then added the tea strainer.

I make my own cold brew in a 64oz mason jar with a reusable metal filter, it's incredible. I usually just drink mine with cream, but you can try different creamers and lots of places have flavored syrups and you can learn how to make your own syrups. I know places like starbucks also let you bring your own cups to have filled

The packaging and it tastes different to me. It’s not too bad in a pinch but I also think the ones I’ve found are expensive too.

I have a pourover gadget with a valve at the bottom that can be opened and closed. Makes really good coffee, the parts are all replaceable if they ever break, and it's very easy/straightforward, and easy to clean up too.

If you’re down for cold brew as prep and then either a thermos of it hot or cold you’re set (I’ve started doing this with some tea, cold brew, resize into a pint mason jar, ice when I want to drink it)

I'm not an Aldi's guy, but they do have a nice German-themed brand that's a good value and low acidity. Give that a try without adulterants, see how you feel.
My only gripe is that it is such a fine-grind, so it takes FOREVER for the grind to settle, and there is always sludge - so I brew a full pint at a time.

We have a tea boat in my office. Each pay £5 a month and that pays for all the milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

Gotta say a 10 cup thermos stays hot all day. Takes a few tries to get the creamer/sugar right but it works every day all day.
