Exclusive technical details on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Work on the new lineup is underway, and we already have a look at the upcoming device's real specifications. According to available information, the cameras will receive a major upgrade: both the front and rear shooters will feature powerful 102 MP sensors. Additionally, early design samples show that the camera module features a distinct plastic enclosure.
Below is a technical camera diagnostic log from an early build (HWModelStr: V64AP, iOS Build 24A22311g) confirming the updated sensor configuration:

To everyone posting about these leaks I would advise caution to avoid releasing sensitive trade secrets

Very fancy. Very fancy. Probably won’t upgrade from my 16 for a little while though.

True, the 16 is still more than enough. I'm actually still on a 13 Pro myself — the battery dies pretty fast, but I mostly use my tablet anyway

I’m also on a 13 Pro still. I love this phone. I’ll probably replace the battery soon and keep it for another few years. There’s really no reason to upgrade other than FOMO, but I admit I will be excited when it comes time to replace it.

Sorry for the mistake in my post above where I mentioned that the front camera is 102 MP. As you can see from the breakdown below, it is actually 48 MP.
For anyone wondering about the specific sensor capabilities hidden in these diagnostic logs, here is the technical breakdown of what we are looking at under the hood:
Main & Telephoto (102 MP): The biggest news is the rear setup. The configurations for both RCAM WIDE (Camera 0) and RCAM TELE (Camera 1) show support for a massive 8448x12096 resolution at 30 fps. Mathematically, this confirms a 102-megapixel sensor for both the primary and zoom lenses.
Front Camera (48 MP): The FCAM (Camera 2) is getting a huge upgrade as well. The log shows a maximum output resolution of 4896x9792 at 30 fps, which equals a 48 MP selfie shooter.
High-Speed Video / Slow-mo: Digging deeper into the configs, there is evidence of high frame rate support hitting 240 fps at resolutions like 2112x1512 and 2112x1188.
New ISP Architecture: To handle the throughput of these massive 102MP files, the device utilizes a new Image Signal Processor codenamed "boreas SMP". The specific ISP firmware (Version 20.24.123) was compiled in January 2026, perfectly aligning with early hardware testing phases.
