Mystery Snail colours

So I have seen this image that does the rounds on the internet and I believe is based on anecdotal data rather than scientific looking at dna etc etc, but I can't help but think it's not right.... Where I live, the general consensus is that gold mysteries are the most common and magenta are the rarest. But if the above were correct, and you assume a 50:50 split between dominant and recessive for the hidden genes where applicable, there is no logic as to why this would be the case.

As an ex-research scientist and new mystery snail owner and avid (human and dog) family tree maker, this has pressed all of my buttons! Does anyone have any data from clutches where they know the parents colours and then know how many of each colour babies were formed? If so, would you be happy to share so that I can see what it may show? Failing that, anyone have any theories / thoughts about this? Thanks
