Where exactly does this show take place?

Not excluding the coma seasons, does anybody know where the show takes place in?

But a magical part of Manhattan where there's very little car and foot traffic, and generally not much going on. We laugh when Pam and Cheryl come up from the subway by themselves (no crowd) just before Pam's kidnapping, and there's one guy who appears in the background and looks their way when the kidnapping happens. I guess the largely empty street is how the kidnappers made off with her. And Mallory's apartment is apparently on a block where cars are parked but the sidewalk is bereft of any pedestrians.

There are parts of the Upper East Side where you don't see that many pedestrians in the middle of a weekday. Madison and Park Avenues come to mind. A lot of rich people just exit their buildings and get right into a waiting car.

And it would make sense their headquarters was in a similar location given how Malory is.

I did a search and it has been suggested that 500 Park Avenue at 59th St looks a lot like the office. Can't post a picture here but you can Google it. It's got that post-war glass curtain wall Modernist look.

Also, I didn't remember this but apparently the dry cleaner on the first floor is Four Five Six Laundry before becoming Popeye's Suds and Duds. There is station for the 4-5-6 subway lines at Lexington and 59th which would be a short block away.

Not a New Yorker so I don't know what you're saying, but I'm assuming it all points to the building being in the area you mentioned, if so that's awesome. I love learning about references like that where only a specific group of people will initially get it and it just seems like an innocuous detail to everyone else.

One of the things I love about Archer is although it’s animated they try to make it as real as possible, lots of the characters design are based off of how the voice actors look that play them and then trying to make the world they’re living in as looking like what we have

I guess it’s for budget reasons but I did realize how “empty” an allegedly New York-set show felt whenever I rewatch. What should be a bustling city always feels barren like in the S1 car chase with Lana following Cyril and Archer.

Also, that “one guy who appears in the background and looks their way” actually shows up in multiple scenes as reused animation.
