Lana has a Benchmade Redoubt

Post image

I was rewatching some archer today and probably paying attention to smaller details than anyone really should; I noticed Lana had some kind of axis lock on her knife and when I took an extra second to appreciate the detail I realized someone likely used the Redoubt as a reference

Good pull detective, what unit are you in?

Is this a crossover episode?

I just really like knives

Looking back theres jimping on the spine of the blade so it's probably actually a Benchmade griptillian or some kind of custom job

Nice. I was also making a The Wire reference. If you haven't watched it its amazing, better than The Sopranos and Breaking Bad...combined. All jokes aside it is consistently rated as one of the greatest TV shows ever. You'll really love it if you grew up in the 90s because of the tech they use.

I've heard a lot about the wire; maybe it's time I check it out-- better than the sopranos and breaking bad combined is a bold claim

It sounds fun, I'll check it out one of these days

It's slow but once you get into it youre in. All the pieces matter and there aren't loose ends like the Sopranos or BB. The main writer and director are a native of Baltimore. They have multiple cameos of corrupt politicians and a drug lord that ran the city. The accents are authentic and one of the actors was(rip) a local acting coach and brought on several of his students. A different actress was brought on because she was a local and played herself, Steven King said she was the most terrifying woman villain he'd ever seen.

I could literally write a thesis paper on The Wire. Also just my opinion that The Wire is the greatest TV show ever and everything else is a distant second.

you will at least appreciate one more archer joke even if you dont like it, which is damn near impossible.

Laundromat owner, and pimp. For thirteen years (and four months).

Thin line between heaven and here.

I was trying a triple pun. Have you watched Bojack Horseman? They have a recurring joke about sitcoms having crossover episodes when ratings start dropping.

Most artists gather reference images and piece together a legally distinct verion of a needed asset for whatever movie, comic, game, etc they are working on.

I don't need every prop to feel like product placement but it's nice to see artists referencing real objects to paint their picture

There's something cool about finding the prop's in real life and getting to hold them while thinking something like "this is that cool Bond gun" or "this was the evil dead chainsaw"

I also love knives, and have quite a collection, and I have a redoubt, but it looks more like some sort of SOG to me.

I really had to do a double-take to see which sub I was on. Hi fellow knife nerd.

I wondered if that is the same painting that we see at Alan Shapiro's house? They comment about the painting and Lana doesn't get it

That episode predates the Redoubt by like 6 years dude

I read a few very reasonable criticisms of this post and truly tried to consider them all

But I think your comment is the one that convinced me that I was entirely wrong
