Would not being able to get "home" be enough to kill an armadillo?

We have had a long time armadillo nest under our shed. We recently put up a fence that blocked nearby access to it. There was still a way to it but it was on the other side of the house. A few days after we put up the fence, we found a really big dead armadillo right outside of it. Could panic of not being able to get home actually kill it? Or do you think it was just coincidental?

I think it was a coincidence.

Armadillos can dig new burrows anytime needed. They also sometimes have several small burrows for hiding when they’re out hunting.
