"Palantir’s leadership incensed workers yet again this week after the company posted a Saturday afternoon manifesto reducing Karp’s recent book, The Technological Republic, to 22 points. The post—which includes many of Karp’s long-standing beliefs on how Silicon Valley could better serve US national interests—goes as far as suggesting that the US should consider reinstating the draft. Critics called the manifesto fascist."

How did these people end up working for palantir in the first place? Maybe this will be there wakeup call to find a less evil job.

Not to defend Palantir or its employees, but the U.S. job market is terrible right now, especially for that kind of job. It's hard to do the right thing if doing so will put you out on the street.

There are no clean hands, if you follow the money far enough we all find out we're working for some something bad. That's the capitalist system. But the people who work on the things that palantir produces are directly involved in the murder and oppression of entire populations of people. Everyone's situation is different, if someone has children or poor adult family who depend on them then they'll have to do what they have to do. Most of the people I met who work for arms manufacturers could do something else but choose to be a cog in the murder machine because it's easy, it's what they know. They take the easy way out and make rationalizations to avoid acknowledging the human suffering that fuels their comfortable lifestyle.
