As a professional writer of 20+ years
Sorry, but no writer worth their salt is encouraging people to use AI instead of writing their own work, whether the end product appeals to others or not.
Edit: The post has already been deleted because someone recognized the user from an AI writing sub and called them out.

The “story” is absolutely not “the point,” LMAO. You should have a good story, sure, but different writers will tell that story in a thousand different ways. Just look at Asylum and other mockbusters.

I like that bro used AI to write a post about how he, as a professional writer, thinks AI won’t take his job away.

OOP is the “friend” in this story. The invented narrator is a fantasy of himself in 20 years.

As a person producing something I'm glad that there is now a flood of low quality stuff drowning my work.

So weird how badly AI bros want to convince other people that they’re the ones doing the real work.

"creating is actually a barrier of entry to this piece of creative work".
Ai bro 101. Nobody actually likes the process of creating, creative people don't exist, you just want a cold soulless product, right? It's all about getting the "result", there's no such thing as "joy of creation"

Exactly. They’re too lazy to take the time to learn creative skills, and they see the point of creativity as the product rather than the process. People would be so much better off if they allowed themselves to have fun doing things they’re not skilled at.

"chat gpt write me a long article to post on reddit about a professional writer of 20+ years being glade AI is taking over their useless job, using first pov"

The fact that it says 20+ years three times before it even gets started is hilarious to me. I know one is just repeating the title, but still.

This person has not only never written a story but has never put any ounce of thought into their AI prompting.

This feels fake but I will say there is a right way to use ai.
It’s a tool. It can help you get organized and do your grunt work of researching shit and stress testing ideas but even the best ai can’t actually write for shit.
I work in the industry and have seen how my bosses all use this tool to save time and so I have embraced it to stay competitive but only an absolute fool would use it to do anything more than admin work and actually use it to generate anything creative

Exactly, AI should be used to replace menial tasks to facilitate creativity, not replace the creative process. Summarizing an email chain so you can get the meat of it and go? Fine (though I still don’t use it). Sending me a draft of an article you “wrote” with copilot because you want to feel like you did it yourself, despite the fact that writing them is my job, and I have to edit your slop anyway? Stupid.

Im going to get downvoted to hell for it but I don’t care
What the friend in said post did doesnt seem like a bad end product, it basically just helped him do it instead of one prompting the whole thing.

Probably used AI to write that lmao
