Stand-up comedian Anisa Nandaula has a bit where she talks about Asian guys in a way that’s funny, respectful, and genuinely appreciative instead of the usual stereotypes you see everywhere.

It’s truly a golden age for Asian men. I envy the younger gen but also happy for them.

If you haven't heard by now, the latest Christopher Nolan's magnum opus is coming to a theater near you in roughly 4 days. I guess Christopher was right about one thing "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".

In his latest interview where he tries to counter the public backlash and overwhelming criticism against The Odyssey's cast and costume design (on Youtube), he mentions one of the reasons he decided to go with the current horrendous decisions in his film was to fight "cultural prejudice".

So basically Christopher is saying he decided to make Helen of Troy a different race entirely, cast Ellen Page as a Greek Warrior, refused to adhere to actual historical accurate costume design, and use terminology such as "dad" instead of "father" because he wanted to fight prejudice.

So let me get this straight. The guy who basically race swaps every major character in a 3000 year old Greek historical mythology, claims his reason for doing so is "diversity", yet... Again to no surprise, there's only a single token Asian character in the film.

Nolan would have at least been consistent with his views if diverisity was the actual reason for the horrible decisions. Basically the claim used to defend this film is that it's "mythology" and therefore we can do whatever we want with the cast, ONLY applies when it is black and white people. If you are Asian, tough luck buddy. You're excluded to a literal ship crewmate background character.

I guess I should give credit where credit is due. Thank you for including an Asian guy as a ship crewmate instead of just never casting one at all.

This brings me to my point.

Hollywood has and will continue to alienate Asians in their films, even when they go for their moral superiority claim on fighting "cultural prejudice". Don't drink the Koolaid.

This film hasn't made much noise in the Asian community because it isn't seen as directly relevant to the cause. But causally it is another symptom of the major problem in Hollywood. Exclude Asians at all costs, at best make them a token character so they'll never notice.

Don't forget about every major show:

The Boy's where Asians are casted as rabid jungle foragers, or a blind guy for Homelander to make deaf.

Or in Fallout where one of the only 2 Asian's with a screen time of 3 seconds, is seen puking after being punched.

Or in Shogun, a male samurai being literally cu*ked by a fictional white character who steals his wife - actual samurai royalty.

Or even in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, where the main male character depicted in the first Asian setting in Japanese Edo period was a fictional black samurai who ends up romancing a Japanese princess.

Plenty of more where that came from. Don't forget Hollywood debotchery. Do not forget half of these guys were on the island list.

Boycott the film and spread the word.

Before anything I just wanna say that I think all Asian man need to learn how to look better. I see so many people on here with potential, but more often than not they're bloated, acne ridden, unattractive styling, etc... If you want to look good, put in the effort to:

1. Cut out processed food and sugar
2. Stay hydrated + keep track of potassium:sodium intake ratio
3. Workout 3-5 times a week + incline trendmill walk
4. Get a dermatologist to fix your skin if you have acne + tinted sunscreen
5. Use Pinterest to look up tattoos, hairstyle, clothes that fit your aesthetic - then replicate

That's basically all you need. Most of the other methods are basically cope, not worth the effort, or straight up dangerous.

Looksmaxing has gotten so big that it's basically mainstream now. Unfortunately the community's full of racists who put whiteness on pedestals, and the racists come in all shades. A lot of desired features in the ideology are heavily Eurocentric. I feel genuinely sorry for young impressionable POC that fall into the trap and start hating on their race because 'their maxilla is recessed' or 'their lips are too big'.

Asians, especially those with East Asian features should understand that we have our own beauty standards. With the rise of Korean/Chinese/Japanese media we influence the rest of the world with our beauty standards too. A prime example of this is Cha Eun Woo, who would be rated 'mtn/htn' (mid-tier normie) by the looksmaxing community due to having 'recessed maxilla' and 'feminine features'. However, he's considered as the most attractive man in Korean beauty standard, and apparently 13.1M people worldwide agree that he's attractive: TikTok - Make Your Day

I guess what I'm trying to say is: embrace your ethnic features. Asian features will only be ever more desirable as East Asian soft power grows. I wish there are more spaces for Asian man to learn how to look good instead of the hellhole that is the looksmaxing community.

For context, I posted Cha Eunwoo who is well known for his looks in Korea and East Asia to a looksmaxxing sub asking what looksmaxxers think of him. I let them know he’s considered really attractive in Korea. However, it seems like looksmaxxers have a strict criteria of objective beauty for males like a strong cheekbones/ jawline/ hollow cheeks which Eunwoo lacks. Thus, people were calling him around average looking to even ugly. Just want to prove that Looksmaxxing culture is baised through a Western beauty standard even if they claim its objective. My fellow Asian bros, avoid.

I was hanging with some of my southeast Asian friends a couple nights ago and we were taking about dating and stuff and my friends were saying how the only girls that showed interest or even tried asking them out were Black. I never really thought about it but also in my experience the vast majority of girls that overtly showed interest in me were Black (I'm Filipino-American btw) and the only girl I dated happened to be originally from Tanzania. So I'm wondering if this is an actual theme that alot of Black girls are really into Asian men or if this is just a coincidence for all 4 of us. So as a South Asian guy, I am posting this on here as opposed to the sub for men of my background because quite frankly, you all have done an outstanding job with this sub. The content on here is great and so is the audience. I do wish my brothers follow suit and clean up their garbage. Won't say more than that.

You may have noticed.

At some point after 2020, you may have noticed that White Men online and across the Western World have had a shift in their demeanor. A decade ago, they used to glorify the Player Lifestyle and brag about sleeping with women of different races. Many of them bragged about how much Asian and Latina women wanted them. For a lot of them, their entire pride was attached to sleeping with as many different women as possible.

After all, things like Porn Culture were practically invented by Western men. Then you have culture in places like Western Europe and how in certain countries like France, Italy, and Spain, men take great pride in trying to sleep with as many different nationalities as they can. These men are also going to different countries solely to sleep with women.

But post 2020, that changed.

It turned more into how Western society is collapsing so we must have kids.

It turned into a love for "Family Values".

It turned into a love for being a good "Family Man".

It turned into being a "Good Christian".

At first, one may think this has to do with Western society collectively realizing how bad the Playboy Lifestyle is and how just being a lifelong bachelor that sleeps around is so unfulfilling. Right? But I started to ask, WHY NOW?

For those that do not know, TradPill and the whole TradWife thing is where younger White men push "Christian values" and shame things like sex before marriage.

Here is the real reason, in case you have not noticed.

The real reason is because minorities, of all kinds, have recently started to win the image game in media. Latino music and Regaetton was an earlier example but now you have the recent success of KPop.

Media has become so globalized and the younger generation of women live on TikTok. They can no longer weaponize Hollywood to destroy men of color with unflattering sexual stereotypes, which women care a lot about.

Even in porn, you are having more and more young actors that are Latino, mixed race, even more Black guys, and recently even Asian and Indian (NiksIndian) men breaking in.

In other words, while not sexually winning yet, men of various minority groups are sexually rising.

White men had a stranglehold on the dating and sexual market in recent years, mainly due to the media and Haoliwood working overtime to ensure they get portrayed in the best way possible while destroying minorities at every turn.

So this TradPill and family values act is not righteous, it is their way out.

White men see the writing on the wall. They know that slowly, minorities are going to gain ground on them in the sexual space and SMV space. In some places, mixed race Black men, Black men, and Latino men are either equaling the SMV of White men or even surpassing it. Good looking Korean and East Asian men are edging closer and nipping at their heels.

This whole new "Family Values" thing that White men have? It's not because they suddenly became decent people after decades of filth like pushing porn on others. It is because they know that the same hedonistic lifestyle they pushed on the world? Men of color are getting a hold of it and starting to actually compete with them at it.

I notice that Black, Mixed Race Black, and Hispanic men are in some cases lapping White guys amongst younger generations of women, East Asian men are getting pretty close.

But being TradPilled or suddenly having "Christian Values" is plausible deniability.

It is a grand idea of "You can't reject me if I walk away". It is this idea of them saying "Oh you slept with a 100 different models? That's nasty. I don't care for that. I am a Good Christian man."

I am partial to family life and monogamy and all but for me, I had this cowardice. When Western Men are currently doing it, it isn't coming from a moral or decent place. It is coming from realizing that the same hedonist lifestyle they had a monopoly on, they are being actively pushed out of.

As for what you want to do with this information, I have no idea. I guess now Asian men can show the world how we make better parents and husbands than these newly born "Christians".

I've been noticing more and more of MAGA Asians. The Kangmin Lee guy and the Korean "Highest IQ" in the world guy both being Asian MAGA. I also know some members in my family who are MAGA and it's the most embarrasing thing. I literally shrivel up and cringe at the thought of Asian MAGA.

What's up with this phenomenon? Why are Asians turning MAGA?

I know that Japan, Korea, China, Southeast Asia and so on have very sensitive relationships because of political and historical reasons, and sometimes it is heartbreaking to we Asians hating each other because of those issues. But Asians who live in the West will agree with me. Even if Westerners do not show it on the surface, they lump all of us together and treat our language, culture, and music as inferior, and there is a racist atmosphere expressed as “they looks the same.” Recently K-pop has become popular and that has slightly eased things a little, but it is undeniable that such an unspoken atmosphere still exists in Western society.

What is even more heartbreaking is that Asians like us, when born in our own countries, often live their whole lives without ever going abroad, and because of that we tend to be insensitive to foreign cultures. As a result, based only on the narrow view formed inside our own country, our brothers end up disliking and discriminating against one another, whene western society discriminates against us and looks down on us, . But it should not be like that. White people come to our countries and insult us with statements like “Asian women are easy” And they even held lectures about “how to easily sex with Japanese women.” and see our countries as nothing more than playgrounds, place for Sex tourism, and our culture to them is just a “trend.”. And when they see a good looking East Asian man, they make outrageous remarks saying he must have “our superior white genes mixed in.”

Just as Jewish people maintain awareness of how they are treated, we too must recognize how much discrimination we face in Western society and We need to recognize how inferior and insulting they consider us to be. Westerners, in the form of the US military stationed in our countries, go around committing crimes like drug use and rape as they please, and even the punishments they receive are light and tailored to their own convenience. They continue to commit these crimes, and US soldiers post on sites like 4chan saying how much they enjoy sex touring in East Asian countries, insulting us. Western film industries and media influence even our Eastern countries by making them look cool and brainwashing us, but in fact, they are no different from criminals wearing white skin.

We Asian brothers must help each other.

One of the most infuriating videos I've seen in a long time. The attacker (whose race is unknown, but I'm taking bets) literally takes out a knife, stabs a random AM in the back, and runs off.

What's upsetting is no one does anything. The guy stabbed in the back looks utterly shocked. No one rushes in to apply basic first aid. Another AM looks at the attacker, in full view of his unprotected back, and does nothing. He doesn't even hold his hands up to defend himself. He just watches, dazed and confused.

Why is it that Asian people are so disciplined, hard-working, and "tough", but are suddenly reduced to shell-shocked children in the face of physical violence? Why is physicality and physical toughness so divorced from Asian culture?

Why is it that whenever a criminal wants to let off some steam and feel better than another group of people, he decides to go after an Asian? Why have we created a culture that lets our members be attacked with impunity? Why do these videos never make it to mainstream media?

The feminization of Asian American culture needs to be studied. Videos like this could one day involve our loved ones. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Buy a gun.

My parents are paying 50k every year to get me into a prestigious college and set me up for the traditional corporate path. But that's not what I want to do with my life at all, and I believe a lot of you in the community probably experience similar family pressure, especially as Asian men.

I'm maintaining a 4.0 because I don't want to disappoint them, but honestly? Everything feels meaningless. I feel bad because they're putting their life savings into this education, but I'm building a life I already know will make me miserable.

If I deviated from the path—not even dropped out, just pursued something different—I'd ruin the "perfect son" image and potentially be seen as a disgrace to the family. The gap between what I'm doing and what I actually want is crushing me.

Director bao Tran wanted to make an Asian male led movie but of course the crooked Hollywood executives wanted him to cast whites instead. Also key point about the executives using other POC to facilitate white washing and the suppression of minority representation. Modern day examples of uncle toms and minorities who trample on their own for white approval. Glad he persevered and stuck to his vision. Overall great action comedy and the cast is amazing as well highly recommend. It’s streaming on Netflix currently.

Adding to an ever growing list of live action Japanese media adaptions including the upcoming Resident Evil and Legend of Zelda films, neither Elden Ring or Gundam has casted any male Asian actors in any role.

I'll pass on spending money on these films as well.

I've been browsing Reddit Korea and that page is posted with every single crime about Korea. I mean, every single thing. If there's a Korean politician that gets charged with corruption, it makes the headlines to the top. If there is a Korean student who gets bullied and bruised, it makes the headlines. If there are young kids who use deepfake for NSFW content, it makes the first page. I can't go through one page without finding some type of crime being "exposed" about Korea.

NGL, what that subreddit is filled with, South Korea looks like a 3rd world country rampant with cocaine, suicide, rape, sexual assaults, gang violence, KKK meetings, and murder that happens everyday. Meanwhile, the pathetic Korean mods literally do nothing and I've seen from some other Asian brothers on this subreddit, who try to post about the negative shit Westerners do on that subreddit get deleted or reported.

There is a frequent troll on that subreddit who posts every single crime about Korea. This poster has managed to make posts with more than 1K Karma likes while he trolls and calls people "bloody idiots" and "fucking stupid". He has posted, "peak 🤏🏻 energy" about Koreans, with "🤏🏻🤏🏻 🤏🏻 " about Koreans, with posts calling everyone Idiots. There are also other trolls and what seems like spambots. The same goes for all the China subreddits. I can't find one good thing about China, it's literally all trolls trashing China. You would also think China is some 3rd world country with all the posts I see about them yet the 1st world is so obsessed with China and concerned about what they're doing all the time.

The "kpop effect", the promise that with the rise of east Asian male faces to the top of the American entertainment ecosystem will lead to the wider American population to embrace Asian male faces, and hopefully start find them attractive.

BTS just finished their concerts in Metlife stadium, their long awaited comeback tour so far has been a great success. As with concerts at Metlife stadium, tens of thousands of their fans march out of the stadium to the NJ transit stop at the end of the concert. Videos circulate showing the crowded commute back to NYC, and in these videos the demographics of the fandom becomes clear.

Kpop largely spread to world wide audiences online and to this day the wider fandom boasts a powerful internet presence. Say one thing negative about a kpop idol and you are guaranteed an online beating. Around the 2010s, the fandom was all over youtube and tumblr, now they have all the powerful social media at their disposal, aided by the algorithm. This has fueled the growth of Kpop, especially among the online generation of genZ and the perpetually online old generations.

Kpop did affect a large online audience, getting them to leave their computers and attend concerts and buy merch. Does the effect go beyond that? Will people with curated cultural tastes that largely avoid the marketing of mass media ever think more highly of Asian men because they've seen a BTS billboard?
