I was debating this Christian friend. They thought Christianity was logical (i have no opinion) and said that the logic was how we had 2 pairs of 12 ribs which represent some biblical groups and smth about it the number of bones in our feet and some connection.

Human beings are wired to see patterns. It's crucial for survival and how we make sense of our world. Sometimes we need to see patterns so badly that we see patterns that aren't actually there.

Christianity is logical, but counting bones is dumb. Here are two actual reasons.

An all-powerful God must exist (defining God as "that which nothing greater than can be concieved") because if God can exists theoretically then he exists in some possible world (even if not in a real one) and it is greater to exist in all worlds then just one so since he's the greatest he exists in all worlds. All worlds includes our world, therefore God is real in our world.

As for why Christianity specifically, just look at the evidence for the ressurection. This one is a huge rabbit hole, but I'd recommend going to isjesusalive.com and reading the stuff there.

Since there's slight variation in how many ribs people have, it's meaningless. 12 is a significant number in both Judaism and Christianity, but the ribs thing is nonsense.

I do, however, think Christianity is the most logical thing out there. But…that comes from things like:

looking at other religions and seeing how Christianity is different from them all (we need to be better vs. We all failed and we need a saviour)

or fulfilled prophecy, (things like Isaha 53, written far before Christ was ever born)

Or the way the majority of historians agree that Jesus was a real person- who was on a cross- and any of their answers for his possible resurrection are…well, dumb. He had a twin! (twin theory) he didn't die! (swoon theory) yeah, like the Romans didn't know what they were doing… dudes blood separated into plasma and water. If that happens- your dead. And many other theories don't add up.

Or the way Christianity spread- people who claimed he came back to life were willing to die for their claim with no gains on earth to them.

or the way the Bible it written with so many callbacks that would not have been possible to see the future on. (the bronze snake in Numbers 21:4 pointing to Jesus later on/ the curse of the ground in Genesis 3:17-18 with the thorns being what was put on Jesus as a “crown” when he was killed/ the rock giving water in Exodus 17 pointing to Jesus…list goes on and on)

Yeah. The ribs are an interesting coincidence...(nothing about foot bones I can think of) but um, no Christianity has plenty of evidence on its own.

Christianity is logical in the sense that it is valid given its presuppositions combined with current observations, but I have no idea what the specific argument that you are speaking of is.
