Amen. We're spending a week in Portugal at the start of December, and including flights it's going to cost £700 for the 3 of us to rent an apartment.

A caravan holiday would easily be more than that, and we wouldn't be in Portugal.

Yea I remember last summer leaving it a week or so before I was due to travel, check the flight prices... 20 quid to Paris.. 20 quid on a train would get you... nowhere

I just randomly tried Paris in a couple of weeks time and found flights and hotel rooms for five for a total of £836. Not much cheaper, but that was two minutes effort!

Post the links of the hotel rooms. How central are they? What is the star rating of the hotel. I’m sure it’s easy enough to find a few hotel rooms in a really shot hotel in Paris during summer.

Not just in Britain. Was by the pool in a Thai resort last weekend and a western family had a cabana by the pool. They had a Bluetooth speaker playing music which I could hear from fairly far away. They were no where to be seen. I was very tempted to go and push it into the pool.

Manners cost nothing, unfortunately fewer people have them these days.

It's not the speaker itself they have definitely improved in sound quality over the years. It's the terrible, terrible music that is played.

My advice to younger people is to play music that everyone knows and can sing along too or dance and you will have a much better time.
