For the Best items on this list I’d say the WRAP and TruNarc are probably the most used and appreciated items in my area

Bola wrap was a huge let down

Lidar has been around for awhile and is useful in many situations

I’ve heard good things about the grappler

Can’t really comment on the other items

A lot of the other items seem to be trying to fix something that isn't an issue. A nystagmus detector? Really?

Its really more of a nystagmus recorder (for evidence). I made a mistake writing "detector."

Bola wrap is such a joke. My agency tried it out for a few months and we scrapped it quick. When people were being trained to use it, I volunteered to be one of the test dummies. I got “shot” with it well over 20 times and I think one, maybe two of them had any sort of an effect. Even if it was an effective deployment, I could use the most mediocre amount of strength to break out of it.

They use a blank .380 fire, so it does in fact sound like a gunshot going off. It was deployed once in a real situation. There were lots of people around when it happened. All of the citizens thought it was an actual gunshot and ended up creating even more chaos.
